Turns out the vaunted thinkpads had a few [years where they just burned out the type C ports if they didn't have the right updates..kind of ruins that image of the invincible old IBM. Guess everything sucks now. All soldered, 16gb ram, 256 gb ssd, hot-running shitboxes
