The last time we had a surplus is because Bush Sr raised taxes right as the dot-com era took off. Bush Sr got absolutely savaged in the elections for repudiating his "No New Taxes" pledge. Clinton merely rearranged the tax brackets for better returns, though all of this happened with a Republican House, the actual body responsible for spending anyway, President gets way too much flak for the atrocious job the House of Representatives does for budgeting. The figure of the national debt commonly talked about is useless anyway, it will always be larger because of inflation over the years. A dollar in 1900 went a lot farther than a dollar does today.
I'm not exactly sure what would make a better measurement though... debt-to-gdp has the problem of being variable because of the Fed rates changing. The large national debt figure will mostly be dissolved by inflation, which is why focusing only on the immediate payments is more pragmatic a measuring stick. -

Its not limited to just calling people, the guy is consistently paying for, or DDOSing the site himself. It seems that this clown is doing a lot of the harassment stuff to vendors via phone and email so discovery would give a pretty good paper trail of his activities. If KF had the money, they have a pretty reasonable lawsuit, far more than any of the ones thrown against KF itself for sure. -

The only feature of Akkoma that I know about is their "Local Bubble" timeline which allows the admin to tag in the timelines of other instances to make a themed timeline, its a pretty nifty idea that should be brought into mainline Pleroma and Rebased. -

There is no way to cleanly remove the chemicals from the soil as it stands, there are two options
1) Let it biodegrade. We have absolutely no fucking idea what the composition of that stuff is, they lit THE ENTIRE TRAIN on fire which mixed countless solutions together. Some chemicals remain for all of a few weeks before they degrade, some century.
2) Remove the soil with backhoes and other heavy equipment. -

I just like it big. I have a standard sized monitor, and my nose isn't pressed to the screen, its a full arm length away so I can scan with my eyes the entire length of the monitor without moving my head. -
