  It's literally using the old qvitter frontend with GNU Social, a decaying project where the lead maintainer now treated it as a college project, where the solution to PHP 8 not working with it is "use PHP 7 bro" and the vaporware V3 is random troons rewriting it in some meme language and using V3 as the branding.

  His thing was he had a Sinclair QL. He got the 386 later, but the QL had no software and so he wrote his own software for it. One of them survives as a type in listing.

  Sounds about right. 386 was out and common as rats. I think I remember something about him wanting to try real mode, getting "hello, world" working and then just sort of accidentally adding a sceduler, memory management and filesystem.
  
  I was just talking to an Aspie girl interested in coding. I told her to just find the JavaScript console in a browser, or any online tutorial/interpreter for it or PHP (she mentioned Python, whatever), and get "hello, world" working, by which time she'll either be addicted to the read-modify-write loop, or move on.

  As I recall, it was while he was at Helsinki U, on a 386 PC, and he knew how to code but Minix was restrictively licensed.

But the backend support isn't "bubble", it's just "Show this instance's timeline". In typical Akkoma fashion, the cool thing was crippled to "admin-approved instances because what if someone looks at a bad thing".

  The only feature of Akkoma that I know about is their "Local Bubble" timeline which allows the admin to tag in the timelines of other instances to make a themed timeline, its a pretty nifty idea that should be brought into mainline Pleroma and Rebased.

  Linux was ported to the 68k and UNIX early on was associated with the 68k.
  
  The problem with the 68k was twofold: RISC and Motorola themselves. Motorola notoriously had compatibility issues between each 68000 CPU, with the 040 and 060 being the worst offenders. Namely the 040 is well known for needing OS patches to run due to the FPU being incompatible, and even the Sharp x68030 breaks far more games than a 386/486 PC-98 or FM Towns did (the main issue being timing and not missing instructions).
  
  Think like the issue with the POWER and PowerPC, multiple times in a row. Also the 68040 needed a heatsink, and the LC040 had serious bugs resulting in FPU emulation not working.
