But I can't just miss to see how uneven this game is, for the youths, its completely subverted to the point that a trainload of boys hardly even dare such an approach , unless the deck is favourably stacked.
Boys won't become men without the right directions given by adult males around, while women maintain their bitchy condition until they're forced out of it (by either society or other adult females).

Had friends playing the "dating game" well into their 30's, and there were horrors beyond human comprehension.

As principle, I use to avoid places that wouldn't align with my values / morals, such as particular restaurants or retarded places like starbutts, regardless of how "popular" they're.
Outside of that, you're right, expecially on the being confident or, at least, don't overplay own insecurities, from a male perspective, many young boys simply cannot do this, regardless of the pedestal issue.
