@blaaablaaaa @Hoss @olmitch This post from over a year ago is probably part of it too. But to be real, systemic failure can't be allowed to happen. If it does, the functional people will rebuild their own stuff without the parasite class. America has enough resources we could literally become a fortress nation with zero dependency on foreign countries.

They'll usually use prepackaged stuff, but sometimes you can luck out and get a local place that has a local roaster connection. It's almost always some corporate supply chain preportioned stale bag though.

It's really funny how poorly thought through the antitheist position is. If there was no outside force (real or invented) to "control people", there would never be civilization. Higher ideals do not manifest themselves without a functional framework, and if they did they'd be the equivalent of gods. At least animals have a complex system that filters and breaks things down; most things are reused for other things and what isn't gets biologically filtered. Would they have to put a fake kidney and fake blood to make it work? At what point is it just a cow in a jar? It has no mouth and it must scream.

@tyler @thatguyoverthere If we taxed it, mega corps would be hosed or at least have to play fair. They borrow right now to buy things they have cash for and then interest paid offsets their profits along with depreciation on the purchased goods. Chickens eventually come home to roost, but you structure everything for most favorable means (long term capital gains) and you offset whenever you can. It's incredibly lame.
