I’m trying to give us the same protection our skin gives us in the real world (encapsulation of the self) so we can be people – with human rights – in the age of (and within the context of lives augmented by) the global digital network.

It's just that I see little difference to the narrative of the free speech movement.
You're trying to solve or rather avoid a human problem with tech.
You are supposed to be beholden to the rules of the community you join, you want to establish a track record for content mods, and it is in your own interest to have third-party servers do things for you.
