@hidden @gav would it work better as a computer game?

@Tony @diceynes @hidden Probably my favorite green day song

@hidden @benis wtf I didn't know that kangaroos were tripodmoding. Reminds me of the thread with grips about learning to skate with a hockey stick for support.
The chads at my school were all swimmers (we didn't have a football team). They were all gym bros, and the swim coach would beg them to STOP lifting so much because their deltoids were so big that it was limiting their range of motion and preventing them from doing butterfly stroke properly.

@cinerion As an incel with a cute childhood friend, I find your admissions criteria to be narrow and, frankly, quite discriminatory.

@MercurialBlack Yeah. I can define *other* total orders on the set R which do not satisfy x <= x + 1 for all x. So you need to assume that the total order you are working with satisfies some kind of compatibility with the field structure on R.
-
@MercurialBlack peep these axioms (defining an “ordered field”)

@meso @hidden I feel your pain. I used to love kiwis. Then I didn't eat any for a few years, and when I had half a kiwi I threw up violently for hours. I suspect I developed some kind of kiwi allergy, but I've been reluctant to test it by eating kiwis again. I never tried the skin but now I wish I had done it when I had the chance

@hidden What temptation are you fighting?

@hidden Still a better use of time than witting the uncharming :)

This is correct
If I wanted to be a real asshole, I would have said, "Assume that there exists an infinite set of Pleroma OAuth exploits, which we model as a line segment of length 1. Ethan Ralph targets one of those exploits, while graf simultaneously implements patches for a subset of them, which we model as an interval of length w. Etc."
-
A problem, for fun:
Two players, bot and graf, are standing across from each other, separated by a line segment of length 1. A number w between 0 and 1 is fixed ahead of time, as part of the definition of the game.
Bot chooses a point on the line segment and throws a wrench at that point.
Simultaneously, graf chooses a length-w interval inside the line segment and places a shield on that interval.
If graf's shield blocks bot's wrench, then graf wins. Otherwise, bot wins.
At a Nash equilibrium, what is the probability that bot wins (as a function of w)?

I, too, have also gone to a "daycare" where my best friend's mom was paid in cash and probably never paid taxes in her life
> how we have such fond memories.
Absolutely. I am not good at video games at all, but I can honestly say they were a big part of my world during those formative years. I'm sure most people here could say the same. I'm glad we got to have those experiences. There's a reason why "80s kid / 90s kid / 00s kid" memes always focus on video games.
-
@benis @hidden Certainly not just those! I spent 5 hours today playing a game. (It was Bloody Hell, which is really really good for a free game. Thanks to @coolboymew for letting me know about it.)
-
@mia @hidden I loved fighting this guy as a kid:
-
@Tony @hidden @mia Maybe, I don't recognize it - I must have played different ones. (I didn't have Dream Land.)
I liked to beat him as Spark Kirby, using his own medicine against you. I guess if you lost your power you had no choice but to play as Spark Kirby because those are the only enemies he makes.
