@WashedOutGundamPilot Yeah that's what it always boils down to. Since I watch majorly Hololive I can say that the English girls and even guys fit in and treat it with respect. The bubble in the west is why HoloEN hasn't had a third gen in almost two years no doubt. I don't pity the team that has to come up with all these trap questions to ensure they get quality. -

I saw somewhere recently that Vtubing in the West, bar Hololive/Nijisanji EN branches of course, is just a pump and dump scheme for women/men who give zero fucks about the medium.
I tend to agree with that, Project Kawaii had a whole generation (1 terminated talent) 4 others (mass graduated) up and fucking leave after their griftathons. Oh and they still treat it as some plaything they can up and leave anytime after the fact. That horse cunt made 70k and the other one in that gen made 40k or something and ran away for whatever fucking reason. Then with Phase Connects Yuri apparently raking in money under the table in her time with them instead of making a personal account to circumvent that, no, she decided to have a woman moment and not think 10 steps ahead and instead think 50 steps backwards and continue taking money away from PC. Yeah, I don't care if Corpos lose money but at the same time it isn't a good look on you either if you're practically stealing money from the company you work for. It's fucking weird that the 2 biggest "Agencies" let their Vtubers have personal accounts and let them do practically anything they want on them as long as the beams don't cross each other. Noel, Mel, Matsuri, Mori, Kiara, Ina, Kronii, IRyS and some Nijis can do this no problem yet these cunts under the smaller corpos can't? I understand if you don't want to dox yourself but at the same time IRyS, Mel, Noel etc. still do things on their personal account and really haven't had this problem...

I see that there is some seething about COVER transitioning to a publicly traded company eh? My only fear is that rich "antis" comes out of the woodworks when COVER opens up more stock than just the initial offering months after and these guys start demanding outrageous shit like terminating HOLO talent because muh numbers, political garbage or that they don't "stream enough". Investors are notoriously out of touch with everything after all or malicious on some level. COVER does have a set lifetime cap on their stock though so we'll see how that plays out. I think they're only going up to 40% shares publicly traded in April and keeping it that way but, things can always change.
It is interesting to see their game plan laid out in public now though; expansion overseas and to open up a huge ass studio so talent can use it without having to book months in advance. This may include an American studio at some point who knows. They have also taken into account that viewership changes over time as well. They'll also localize more often, whether in house or not remains to be seen. I would say though translations have definitely been in house since there's some good memes inserted through CC on YT that are clearly more "Western". Again, things may change on this end.
The funniest part is the seethe that "Nijisanji, small corpo, indies and others" have about this. Success does indeed breed jealousy. I'm sorry that Froot from Vwhorejo backstabbed Silvervale by donating to a child rape center and said to Silvervale in HER twitch chat of all places "People make mistakes". Sorry that VTubing is primarily Hololive dominated bar a few exceptions... Not. -

What could be surprising (not to us though) is that non-Whites were mad their kids weren't represented on milk cartons for missing childrens' cases. @worldisrotting That's what the majority of them are anyway, being an indie. These days at least. There is a prestige to being in a company like Hololive. From there you can build a lot of connections and succesfully continue on after the fact, like with real Idol agencies. Mori Calliope, as a prime example for that, although she has focused more on Hololive recently than the perpetual online will give her credit for. Nijisanji is different in the fact they focus more on the livestreaming aspect, which comes with all its social foibles. They did try an all 3D concert for NijiEN but that fell through and their top VTubers are protesting by "taking breaks" Good for them honestly.
Hololive set up a huge Con around the same time last year, imagine the hate their talents would have if their huge time to shine was canceled. I unironically think Tokino Sora (The first Holo member) to retire right away or maybe their big event organizer, Fubuki to pack it up were it cancelled due to something like "covid"
A disguise for incompetency I think. Not knowing the logistics of rounding up 25+ people may be an excuse for Ninisanji, but they announced an all gen 3D concert in late December 2022-Mid-January 2023 only to cancel it one week into February. -
