These myths make a lot more sense if you translate the names into Engish. For instance "Loki" translates as "closed containers/bindings".
What strikes me is that for most ancient cultures, when they referred to their deities, they used commonly understood language. Because we leave those ancient names untranslated, it leads to a lot of misunderstandings about what the myths are actually referring to.
Ethereum wasn't ever really intended to be a currency tmk. I remember attending a lecture by Vitalik at the local Bitcoin Decentral shop in Toronto shortly after it opened around 10 years ago. As I recall his vision for it even then was to be a decentralised application platform, specifically to get people to expand their view of blockchain tech as being more than just a replacement currency/security. That said, until it's cheap and fast/easy to use like you said, and one can have some reasonable confidence in the security of the contracts, it's mostly gonna remain a niche tool for blockchain fanboys and financial speculators looking to score a quick buck off market fluctuations and hype. At least until there're ubiquitous PoS systems that one can transact with it, such as to buy groceries or whatnot. I do think there's a lot of potential for it, the least of which is currency, but it'll need some time to grow and work out the practical issues you mentioned. My personal pain point on this is the KYC bullshit, and the fact that to get around that you pretty much need to accept being ass raped on the fees/price relative to it's market value.
TMK, in Canada it's illegal to use amateur radio frequencies to transmit encrypted data. I can understand needing to license allocation, but explicitly requiring the ability for the feds to surveil radio communications is something I have a problem with. That said I think ad-hoc mesh networks such as those created for IoT devices are a potential alternative. Stuff like LoRaWAN (notwithstanding it's proprietary) could offer a way around this legal constraint.
The easiest thing to do is offshore the hosting and carry on business as usual. Loads of hosting companies accept Monero or other crypto if needed. Fuck the gov't. They're toothless dogs.
A quaint little tidbit about who this new BS applies to.

☑⚡thurisaz⚡"Last May, the National Toxicology Program (NTP), a federal research agency, was set to release its eagerly awaited report into the cognitive and neurodevelopmental impacts on humans from fluoride exposure. ... The report was also set to play a key role in an ongoing lawsuit, filed by government accountability nonprofit Food & Water Watch, to get the Environmental Protection Agency to regulate water fluoridation because of fluoride's possible neurotoxic harm. More than two years ago, the judge put the case on hold in expectation of the NTP report's public release.
Before the NTP could release the report, however, "They were blocked," said Linda Birnbaum, NTP director until 2019. ... Some health experts believe this finding makes current water fluoridation levels potentially unsafe for developing fetuses and young children. Because many common foods and drinks contain fluoride, consuming them along with fluoridated water could amount to harmful exposure levels, these experts say. ... This January, Birnbaum issued a scathing legal declaration as part of the lawsuit, writing, "The decision to set aside the results of an external peer review process based on concerns expressed by agencies with strong policy interests on fluoride suggests the presence of political interference in what should be a strictly scientific endeavor." Birnbaum said she issued the legal declaration in part over concerns the report might never be publicly released. ... Birnbaum, however, remains adamant that the science proves there is "no real benefit" from ingesting fluoride. "The benefit from fluoride is from topical applications," she said."
for those who wish to force the unwilling to mask up, I would suggest you try shoving a pickle up your ass. there's no conclusive evidence for or against that either, so better safe than sorry. amirite?

☑⚡thurisaz⚡Scientism is a conceit that the populist secular dogma of the day (aka: ``science``) trumps all other concerns including ethics and especially the equal rights of individuals to exercise a differing opinion. In reality "science" is founded upon this very notion of dissent. In seeking to curtail it, such claims of an unimpeachable ``science`` are rendered a blatant hypocrisy.
imo feminism went off the rails when the schism occurred between anti-state libertarian feminists, versus the power grabbing socialist feminists who love the tyranny of the state so long as they're the ones in charge of and benefiting form it. though clearly they have to continue to foment conflicts to justify their own existence/pay-cheque.
my rule of thumb is, if it *requires* you to provide a cell phone number (rejecting voip, et al), then it's not a privacy focused app. it's a trojan horse designed for harvesting and mapping your location and social network 24/7/365.
paradoxically though, trusting the science means never trusting the science. because questioning the science is how you do science. it's basically professional skepticism.
The best thing about covid is being able to walk into a bank wearing a balaclava and not get shot in the face. Mind you if you didn't wear a mask, that's a possibility. How well do you think an n95 mask would stop a fart? But hey, that's why there're safe and effective (never before tested, experimental, totally not gene therapy, fingers crossed, honest) vaccines. Not so long ago it was GMO food we had to worry about. Now half the people I know are GMOs, and so is the entire hospital blood supply. Anyway, that's not nearly as important as whether I prefer the pronoun you're using, you bigot nazi fascist who wants to take away our ability to take away your ability to speak to whoever or about whatever we dislike du jour. Nya!Why is it called conspiracy "theory"? Isn't a theory a hypothesis which has been thoroughly tested and has withstood every effort to debunk it? Hmmm...The way society is going in a generation or two from now young adults will be l
