I believe 100% that it’s intentionally being pushed. If you have the misfortune of using or being aware of Tk Tk, you may be aware of a meme trend of the video being something normal (say, a recipe video) then suddenly cutting to two men kissing, then cutting back. It’s supposedly for the “shock value” or something, to get a taboo laugh along the lines of “what if we kissed next to the wither in Minecraft… haha jk… unless…”

The results of the programming also present themselves with the pop-term “safe horny” and its applications. A scantily clad woman appears in a “you laugh you lose” compilation, and the reactor will go to great lengths to exaggerate not looking at such a “forbidden” thing, saying “I was looking respectfully, nothing bad.” One of those fag kiss clips, or a (fag-looking) guy with a huge ass? The cartoon awooga eyes and a “gottdamm the ass on that man sheeeesh” Ditto for being able to simp for the fat, ugly, brown but an attractive White woman comes on and it’s like a brandished crucifix.

Perhaps it’s my poor choice of window into the zoomer and later, but I know that it’s worse deeper into the rabbit hole. This is shoving lonely men into becoming safe, effeminate homos, and it’s 100% astroturfed.

I was on the fence about the anime being a good adaptation a while back, and it exceeded my (admittedly low) expectations. If you get past the (intentionally) uncomfortable first episode or two, you unlock a really cute story about two adolescents falling in love and growing closer together in one of the most natural arcs I’ve seen, and I read a lot of room/romcom manga. One of my favoritest favorites. Plus, FMC is pretty cute.

I also enjoyed Loving Yamada at Lvl 999 (really cute well animated shoujo), Eminence in Shadow (chuunibyou comedy where a guy wants to larp as a shadowy genius, but everything he pretends is actually true, lots of cute women), Stuck in a Dating Simulator (comedy about guy getting isekai’d into a ladies dating sim, romance/revenge on the world type story), and Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy (comedy isekai, OP MC gets cursed by reincarnation goddess because he’s not attractive enough, he builds an empire of monsters and a few monster girls; really well animated and an interesting story)

That’s lower than I would have guessed, but I guess you had a lot of kids at any one time, so even if they’re getting married young, your population percentages would be skewed for ~4-8 unmarried persons for every 2 parents.

I don’t think the guy is a fag, but he’s got shamefully long hair and exhibits this type of behavior. Every time an attractive woman or content that would be considered titillating from a male perspective, the performer goes through exaggerated reactions of horror and avoiding looking at the provocative content, making effusive excuses (“I was uh, looking respectfully”) or the type of “dommy mommy” reaction (“she can step on me/crush my head in her thighs”)

However, when troll tiktok content that jump cuts to implied or artistic depictions of two men kissing, or a man is depicted with a very large ass, the reaction shifts to “AYO kind kinda thicc/he got the dumpy” and general expressions of homoerotic desire.

This could be explained as playing up reactions for the content, and I would agree for the most part. This creator is very emotional, and plays the overreaction game with the rest. But, it speaks to your point that that reaction makes money and is what gains popularity and approval from a predominantly zoomer memefag audience.

Not sure if this is much more than an anecdote, but it’s disheartening to hear that this is a greater trend in the culture, being pushed on our young people from every angle, rather than the isolated insanity of a single personality.
