     YOU'D HAVE TEN MARRIAGES FOR EVERY 1000 HEADS OF POPULATION
     SO ONE PERCENT OF ALL POPULATION IN THE COUNTRY WOULD GET MARRIED EVERY YEAR

     GENTLEMEN IM HAPPY TO REPORT THAT DIVORCE RATES HAVE ACTUALLY BEEN STEADILY DECLINING SINCE THE 80'S
     NO FAULT DIVORCE WAS JUST A TEMPORARY BUMP IN THE ROAD
     I BELIEVE ITS SAFE TO SAY THAT BY 2080 DIVORCE WILL BE A VERY RARE EVENT IN THIS COUNTRY AND MARITAL UNIONS OF ANY KIND WILL SIMPLY BE OUTLAWED AS AN ANTIQUATED ODDITY

     @nugger I guess I’d never seen the data, but I’m surprised to see that even in the 1800s, the marriage rate was only 9 per 1000.

     That’s lower than I would have guessed, but I guess you had a lot of kids at any one time, so even if they’re getting married young, your population percentages would be skewed for ~4-8 unmarried persons for every 2 parents.

     (this guess is sourced from conjecture alone, here’s the salt shaker)
