     @heavens_feel Was their intent to discourage it for health reasons or moral reasons? One of the walking channels I watch mentioned “banned Shibuya Halloween” but I didn’t know the context behind it.

     In my view the government became overconcerned because of the Seoul Halloween crowd crush [ link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seoul_Halloween_crowd_crush ] which was in part due to failure to prepare for crowds.

     @heavens_feel A fair concern, I suppose. No one wants to see their people get crushed in a thing like that, but I have trouble envisioning the Japanese getting into that sort of issue. They have a lot of crowded events and it rarely becomes an issue.

     @JedKron1248 Agreed. And this is my own opinion, but I'm quite tired of the government telling us to stay home and/or cancelling social events because of a vague concern. If people want to celebrate Halloween on the streets of Shibuya, they should do it, _even_if_, and maybe even _especially_if_ the government doesn't want them to. People have self-determination.
