I hate carrier phones. I had a Verizon one once, and I hated having their "flavor" baked into the OS. I just buy phones from the manufacturer. Most of the time, if you can't afford the full price all at once and still want to make payments, you can get a simple line of credit from Google or Apple and get 0% interest for a year or two. Doesn't cost you a dime more and you're still not in a contract with a carrier.
