@mntmn That's nice but as someone who gets motion sickness on either car or bus, trains are better for self driving. They fully automated. And I can listen to this and relate literally https://youtu.be/OAGXZuT78lI
@itsfoss#ALT4you "A four panel comic strip in which a red haired guy is saying: panel 1: " nobody is born cool" panel 2: "except offcourse..." panel 3: "those who help Linux beginners in forums without trolling them. panel 4: " a proud smile"
@itsfoss This might sound weird but Linux helped me with my mental health because I was supposed to go to college this year but because of health problems I had to take a year off, I was feeling down because of my situation and didn't felt like doing anything. I slowly started customizing things & tried to get into WMs to make them look awesome and in doing so made me happy and at the same time, I learned a lot. I spend all day doing that stuff which made me happy.
@itsfoss Let me give you an upgraded version of this "forced downloading of Windows updates when you have a bandwidth cap and even when you had turned on metered connection". And now even when its over, I can just read Wikipedia or read books or just do anything that doesn't requires internet. Linux literally saved my bandwidth.
@itsfoss The problem though always is the fact that people won't switch and by that I mean, even if you want to use any of these apps your friends and family members won't switch and some do but not a lot.
@itsfoss Maybe its just me but I use arch linux too and I haven't seen many arch linux users do this kind of thing. This seems like something only some new arch linux users would do because they want to flex or something like that. Also gentoo users are always nice about it from what I've seen, I think they understand what it means to be a beginner at something.
@aral I really like the whole idea of Fedora SilverBlue but last time I checked, you can't dual boot and I dual boot two distros, I know I can use a VM but I prefer it this way. I just want to know, is there any limitation that dual booting is not doable in immutable distro like Fedora SilverBlue.
@nixCraft I have much bigger problem with Bluetooth earphones and the reason is simple, I don't like charging two things just to listen to music and also the fact that the batteries on those will eventually run out and I have to throw them even if the earphones are fine but batteries aren't. I just don't like them.
@nixCraft I think for home user who just use their computer for usual things should consider keeping their personal files in proper order and don't let it become a mess because that's exactly what I did for years and when I just wanted to get a really old file, things became really bad and search saved me but now I started cleaning up things. This is just for personal backups and keeping a directory structure that makes it easy for you to locate your files is always good.
