     @nixCraft I really don't feel this is bigger downgrade than ditching replaceable battery.
     My girlfriend's phone lacks jack so we purchased USB-C to jack for connecting to a car radio and we both use it as it firmly holds on cable and both our phones are able to pass sound through USB-C

     @nixCraft To be honest, I still prefer the jack option, at least it works everywhere, when the USB options... Sometimes works, sometimes not... And not to mention the Bluetooth which disconnects all the sudden...

     @nixCraft We got a pixel 6a and it comes with a usb-a to usb-c dongle for data transfer and on a hunch I plugged THAT into the usb speakers we use with the laptop and... it works pretty well, though it is absurd.

     @nixCraft one of the first things I verify, is that the Android has a #analog #audio output
     I've never, ever and shall never, ever, have to deal with this stupidity, by the #Android manufacturers

     Straight DA conversion has the lowest delay possible, which the analog audio jack delivers on board

     I do sound engineering so I always need good analogue sound from my devices

     @nixCraft never going back to wired headphones unless for professional studio work. I can attend a meeting on any device, switch from one device to another - be really much more mobile of not free, so I don’t miss that jack at all 🙌🏻

     @nixCraft When they did this ten years ago, I would have been right on board with the snark, and to be fair technically I still agree, yet these days I have to be honest and admit that my last three bluetooth headsets have been very good and I haven’t missed the headphone jack for ages. And that’s not to say you have to accept it; 3.5mm jack was around for decades because it was an excellent design that worked reliably. It’s just not something I’ve personally considered for a while now.

     @nixCraft I have much bigger problem with Bluetooth earphones and the reason is simple, I don't like charging two things just to listen to music and also the fact that the batteries on those will eventually run out and I have to throw them even if the earphones are fine but batteries aren't. I just don't like them.
