These companies don't need to advertise:
* Apple isn't trying to push out a new product today.
* IBM makes their money off big enterprise deals, they don't need to advertise, they just bribe or threaten the right person to get the deal.
* Disney is basically a CIA front at this point, no real company can possibly lose that much money and not change course.
* Comcast doesn't advertise, they monopolize, NBC is a pet project.
* Lions what?
* Warner/Discovery, so the owners of CNN? So another hole that the CIA throws tax money in.
These are all, to some extent or another, deep state fronts. They don't care about advertising because they know that one way or another, they're getting paid anyway. What they're stopping is DONATIONS.
And Twitter should not be trying to live on their patronage, the real game is public opinion. Musk puts pressure on the deep state, the deep state reacts by cutting off their donations. Big deal.
The way he should play that is to then come back and put a LOT of pressure on them, and then at some moment offer to back it down a notch if they'll throw him a bone.
It's how the Vandals sacked Rome, a little at a time. And whatever one might think of Musk, fuck the deep state. They undermined the most beautiful freedom-centric representative republic in history and turned it into just another shitty oligarchy.

> And the experts are wrong.
Hey look everyone, Jeff's a Science Denier now !
Welcome to the club Jeff.

Wherein the ruling oligarchy subtly admits that social benefits are in fact a party loyalty program.
-
I think it's an excellent idea. Especially knowing now that the leaches are using said benefits to buy loyalty from the poor.

Are you one of the people who thinks the world's problems are all due to some secret Jewish plot ?
I get it that for these people, Milei's historical love of Judaism (and now conversion) is probably creating a lot of confusion and distrust, but that's their problem.
-
Yeah, for me, basic human nature is perfectly adequate to explain the world we live in - and as such, I have no real opinion of what religion Milei wants to take up. Either he manages to throw the bastards out of the Argentine govt, or he doesn't.

The problem with the electronics is not exactly what you'd think. In a new car everything is locked down, but after about 10 years modders have cracked all of the systems and bypassed everything, so you want to go at least 10 years old.
Now on the point of sparkplugs in a Ford vs. a Toyota - Just don't buy a Ford. Ever.
Ford has a long and rich history of fucking over anyone who tries to repair their cars.
* With their diesel trucks you can't do practically anything on the engine without pulling the body off.
* With their diesel engine, you can't replace A LIFTER without pulling the crankshaft. Yes, a lifter. It's because you can't replace them without pulling the cam, and the cam has a gear that is pressed on and can't be removed, and that gear can't make it past part of the crank, so you must remove the crank.
* They had a 4.3 L v6 where the timing chain was on the BACK SIDE of the engine, so you have to do some incredible acrobatics in order to replace it.
* Their 2000-2010ish 3 valve triton v8 had only a couple threads holding in the sparkplug in, so they would just randomly eject themselves out of the engine.
There are actually a lot of Ford mechanics out there, because Fords fail often, and they can charge highway robbery prices for repairing them because repairing a Ford is like a three week vacation in hell.
-
Mechanics has more learning curve before you get to a plateau where you can begin to express yourself creatively.
Woodworking, cooking, music, writing & art you can pretty much be expressing yourself immediately.
With mechanics, you need to accept your limitations, cut through grime and broken bolts to replace factory parts with factory parts. Only once you have done your time, then you begin to grasp exactly what the engineers who designed the car were thinking. THEN you can start to make it your own. That's what hot-rodding is.

Sideburns are coming back.

I need a gold mine.
> What are you doing building a bunker 1000 meters below ground level ?
Gold mine.
> And what do you need a half ton of high explosives for ?!
...Gold mine.

Every time I see this shit on my feed, I'm like "wtf are you doing with your life?!"

Because the domestic food safety regulator does not approve the printing ink for use in food.

The French, as always, making a comic about the Irish situation:
> Stop saying 'terrorist', it's stigmatizing, anti-inclusive, and really hurtful

There's something about the late 60s early 70s that just refuses to go away. 1970 is now 54 years ago, but somehow the same music is still being played and the same cars are still being restored.
I remember at the end of the 90s, people talked about music of the 60s and 70s. In the 2000s nobody talked about the 80s, it was the 60s and 70s. In the 2010s nobody talked about the 90s.
Anyone who understands what the end of Bretton Woods meant for the American economy knows instantly why that is. Everything since 1971 has been malaise.
I think that Milei's branding is absolutely brilliant, perhaps even more so for Americans than for Argentinians. If you're trying to bring up WTF happened in 1971, there's nothing better than sideburns and big hair to do it.

Every time I look at this guy I think about good music and cool cars. I can't help it.
