These companies don't need to advertise:
* Apple isn't trying to push out a new product today.
* IBM makes their money off big enterprise deals, they don't need to advertise, they just bribe or threaten the right person to get the deal.
* Disney is basically a CIA front at this point, no real company can possibly lose that much money and not change course.
* Comcast doesn't advertise, they monopolize, NBC is a pet project.
* Lions what?
* Warner/Discovery, so the owners of CNN? So another hole that the CIA throws tax money in.
These are all, to some extent or another, deep state fronts. They don't care about advertising because they know that one way or another, they're getting paid anyway. What they're stopping is DONATIONS.
And Twitter should not be trying to live on their patronage, the real game is public opinion. Musk puts pressure on the deep state, the deep state reacts by cutting off their donations. Big deal.
The way he should play that is to then come back and put a LOT of pressure on them, and then at some moment offer to back it down a notch if they'll throw him a bone.
It's how the Vandals sacked Rome, a little at a time. And whatever one might think of Musk, fuck the deep state. They undermined the most beautiful freedom-centric representative republic in history and turned it into just another shitty oligarchy.

@cjd Fuck advertisers. The data market related to it is shit and barely works, nobody likes ads and they've been intensifying them
The advertisers are a freaking plague and has always been a censorship force. They can screw off, we'll have a better Internet without them
-
@coolboymew @cjd the age of ads is over and i am overjoyed hearing the screams from the SV hippies as they all burn. the fire rises
-
@jeff @cjd @coolboymew youtubers do a better job of marketing than ads do unless you're taking out ad space for the most offensive and shocking ads like godaddy.com did (and then everyone is let down because godaddy.com isn't a hot porn site for celeb nudes but a shitty domain registrar).
-
@PurpCat @jeff @cjd I have much, much less issues with youtubers taking sponsorship. I wish a bunch of them would get standards, stop advertising garbage and stop pushing talking points so much, it's deadly obvious
But, it is what it is and I much rather that and they get the money directly instead of being middlemen'd to death by the shitty big ones being wishy washy and basically blackmailing for censorship everytime a shitty agitator organization lies about stuff
-
@jeff @PurpCat @cjd wat?
-
@coolboymew @PurpCat @cjd david brock messed with 4chan and they just dont understand how bad it really is now that /pol/ has touched grass. they're coming for them, they're deadmen walking.
-
@coolboymew @jeff @cjd david brock = the media matters guy
-
@PurpCat @jeff @cjd right, the guys that are currently agitating
-
@coolboymew @jeff @cjd put it this way he funded the shareblue/correct the record shills on imageboards outed years ago that are one of the spam armies notorious for flooding 4pol and the like.
-
@PurpCat @jeff @cjd thanks
-
@PurpCat @cjd @coolboymew omfg man i can't wait to play with brock again, that era of /pol/ was magical
-
@jeff @PurpCat @cjd oh yeah, we've been warned since the late 2000s about astroturfing. It's probably fucking nuts, they're probably in most big corpo websites too. You've probably argued with a bunch
-
@coolboymew @PurpCat @cjd probably? no i've caused at least a dozen of them to go to the ER from a nervous breakdown.
i only enjoy military grade oppressive shitposting
