    Well, I just stuck with it and jumped from Manjaro to Arch Linux ARM and finally settled on PostmarketOS which is superior to the later for the Pinephone CE. Now it's stable and decent enough to be usable as a daily driver phone and low spec Linux computer for ssh, tui programs or javascript free web browsing. Can it rival the speed and software choices of Android or iPhone, no. But the trade off is a breaking away from their monopoly, software freedom and privacy.

    When I'm home I have mine connected to a wireless keyboard and mouse with a stand and it's not bad. Typing to you on it right now.

    Have had mine for 2 years now and it still just werks. Yeah Firefox on phosh can be a little buggy and my modem sometimes doesn't wake back up after a long suspend, but overall am I happy to running bare metal busybox/Linux on an open hardware, fully repairable phone.

    We have found some things, but a lot of it is buried, and I think this ancient society didn't use plastics. They used stone and metal, the pyramids of Giza are not Egyptian, they are much older than that. A lot of the wonders of world, like ancient megaliths, strange advanced stone work in Peru, etc, are still present. They have found ancient electronic components and microscopic screws too, but they are not talked about much and are considered OOPARTS, or out of place artifacts.

    There is an ancient radio antennae under the ocean near Antarctica and the southern tip of Peru. It is 2000ft tall and is still emitting a faint signal called the bloop. Is this the remnant of an ancient advanced society buried in a global flood?

    So much of the past is ignored and or covered up because it doesn't vibe with academic traditions of the past 200 years. The thought of an ancient civilization having technology close to ours or better in some cases would cause problems for their narrative. Let alone it being destroyed by past nuclear war and global flooding. Even Robert Oppenheimer, one of the main engineers of the atom bomb believed that their was an ancient nuclear war.

    I found an interest retro Anime. Its called "The Wings of Honneamise". Its a very interesting on the alternate universe concept. Imagine if one of those quirky JRPG fantasy worlds progressed into a modern civilization with fighters jets, aircraft carriers and other modern machinery, but still carried the flavor of evolving from a JRPG world. Totally worth watching.

    Just because you had a skill issue doesn't mean you speak for the rest of BSD. The admin of this instance and I daily drive OpenBSD and it works perfectly well and is very well engineered. I built an entire monetized YouTube channel on tech content made with OpenBSD and FOSS tools. Several users here daily drive FreeBSD, and in some ways it out performs Linux. You don't know what you're talking about, you are a fool.

    One of big advantages of using BSD's is they have largely retained a lot of the traditional concepts, practices and utilities of original UNIX and the culture around it.

    Whereas Linux has largely abandoned a lot of these things (with the exception of slackware, void, etc) and is no longer recognizable in a lot of aspects. :dude_smug:

    This is such a weird post, it doesn't matter what OS is installed on the laptop, Linux can just overwrite it. I'm even pretty sure Linux can be installed on most Macbooks.

    *edit - you use a Linux iso to format the drive and erase the existing OS.

    Take the linux iso you want, let's say it's Lubuntu 22.04, this command from any linux computer will make it bootable, on most machines press F9 or F10 at startup and it will give you a menu to select boot options, then you can boot from a USB

    sudo dd if=yourdistro.iso of=/dev/sdb bs=1M conv=fsync status=progress
