You think: she's grating, but she's going to die. Heh, they're really going with that?
Then she doesn't die. Then you check the forums and see that she turns into a radio operator who spews 'funny' racial commentary at you for THE ENTIRE REST OF THE GAME -

@p @SNEK @SoyMagnus @Zerglingman Those are Japanese characters. I've heard lots of funny speech patterns in anime, but if there's a Chinese idiom like that it's just not coming to mind. My Chinese is pretty rusty though, and also there are large regional differences and slang. -

4 tones isn't so bad. Cantonese has more. And they're pretty distinct provided you can hear them: high tone, rising, low tone, and falling tone. The characters are also fun to write, and even easier to learn for Chinese than say for Japanese where they're much more overloaded with different readings. There's a funny 4chan post somewhere about how terrible it is to know Chinese and deal with Chinese business in the Chinese market, but you'll notice he doesn't bash the language at any point.
"na no ni" doesn't ring any bells though. -

@Terry @coin @KryptoBlok it's easier to grant that stuff. Hamas doesn't pick pacifists for its fighters, militaries with a lot more discipline and open faces and name tags still commit war crimes. There are just definitely 260 civilians killed in Gaza now, and what are saying about those civilians is very different from what they're saying about these rave-goers, and it's actually much harder to defend yourself and your family against the kind of attacks Gaza's seeing than the kind of attacks the rave-goers saw.
There are few important discriminatory lines for people. You probably don't care about the people whose line is something like "a single toenail of a Jewish person is worth more than the lives of a million non-Jews". But I imagine that for most people talking about this, the line is "who can they self-insert as?" I've been a music festival. I can easily imagine getting attacked at a music festival. I have never worried about deliberately indiscriminate bombing of civilian areas by an overwhelming opponent. It's a lot harder to imagine how I'd act if I knew my upstairs neighbors were fucking journalists and that an enemy with information and air superiority might take them out (and me) because they're talking too much. -

@ArdainianRight @admin there's a lot of reasoning about this that assumes that decision-makers are smart have careful plans, which is a very strange thing to assume in the current year. For me Hamas's attack being suicidal on its face doesn't imply that they definitely have backing from other powers. For me this turning into a huge negative for Israel doesn't mean they didn't let it happen. It's not only the west that has distracted leaders always high on their own farts. -

Some Hamas killed a bunch of civilians, and babies were among the civilians. That can happen. After all, it's happening right now in Gaza where the IDF is indiscriminately bombing civilians and even bragging about how indiscriminate the bombing is. This seems to be a normal thing for them. -

2. get asked very basic moral questions about Gazan civilians
there's an element of personal threat that's necessary, as just proven by general unconcern for Ukrainians LARPing all the time as a Nazis. It's not as simple a condition as getting someone drunk. -

@Moto_Chagatai @DrRyanSkelton she acts like a walking red flag though, which is great dedication even if she occasionally talks about 'her model':
1. she has multiple streams about insects. Buying an archeology science kit and digging insect fossils out of it. Wanting to eat bugs
2. she's very attentive to chat, greets people by name, talks to them in chat in pre-stream. Really gives the sense that she has a spreadsheet that she updates every day with your name, blood type, and bank account on it.
3. she's into writing, encourages writing, and reads written submissions. Creepy! This is the creepiest point!
there's also a debut joke about eating with scissors but I doubt it has legs.
in collabs she's super nice though. Very responsible dog owner. -

The real shame is that gays have to hide this aspect of their community, when so many look back fondly on the adult men who welcomed them into the community at a tender age when most of society was scary and probably hostile
