frogzone@wizard.casa's status on Saturday, 13-Apr-2024 22:04:34 JST frogzone @silverpill @kowalabearhugs btw where is #forgefed at these days? the sooner we lose gitlab/hub the better. good software needs to be developed in less trustable, more anonymous environments.

frogzone@wizard.casa's status on Tuesday, 09-Apr-2024 22:47:03 JST frogzone >36% looks way too wide
hang on, you mean the left side looks too wide! i thought you meant eaelier that the right side looks too wide and i jus now realise you fix/hold the left side at 400ish px, which, to me makes the right side look way too wide when i widen. :P
By what you're telling me it sounds like the best remedy will be to measure everything in em, including margins and profile images, then we simply use media queries to change the font-size. then everything will look okay even on some massive 4k display etc. i can go ahead and do that.
@p are you still there, or have you moved to @p? you might be interested in knowing what we're discussing here.

Do tell me if u find something wrong, or weird-looking, also tell my when the html changes are done so i can do 2 finishing touches to the css
thanks and enjoy :)

I'm super happy to report that i decided to spend a few minutes playing with css and its been several hours (i'm naughty like that but hey, why not).the following is the result that i get with minor html and css that will be provided in next toot (please ignore grain for possible privacy added in gimp)
the html frames are still moveable by the user but they turn black when 1 pixel wide, i can add a light edge to each frame manually if you want, to bring out the frame border.

## HTML changes
- For top frameset add attribute: cols="36%,*"
- For both framesets border="1"
- Use 🖉 (U+1F589, not 'edit' [profile])
- Use ☺ (U+263A, remove "Emoji list" and place its entire <a> element before the 'NSFW' element)
- add attribute 'placeholder="Your toot here 🖊"' (U+1F58A) (remove label above text box)
- instead of 'public', try ⊜ (U+229C) and write a tooltip, aka title attribute, as "Public")
- instead of 'unlisted', try ⊝ (U+229D) and write a tooltip as "Unlisted")
- instead of 'private/followers only', try ⊚(U+229A) and write a tooltip as "Private/Followers only")
- instead of 'direct', try ⊙(U+2299) and write a tooltip as "Direct message (DM)")
- (NOTE: fyi there are the following additional glyphs available ⊛⊘⊕⊗🖂 so you can decide what you want to do. Can everyone see them in their browsers???)
- instead of "refresh" alongside headings, try 🗘 (U+1F5D8) -
frogzone@wizard.casa's status on Tuesday, 09-Apr-2024 22:46:31 JST frogzone @r @p @p @silverpill @icedquinn @nimda There are designers that use em for everything and im glad you compelled me to think about changing dimensions because now when I expand and contract frames/the browser, its basically ALWAYS awesome. :bananadance:
i'd like using svg a lot more if the @torproject team, whitelisted the parts of svg that wont burn us all...... :pensive_cowboy: maybe in the next decade we'll get them. hope spring eternal.
bye 4 now.

frogzone@wizard.casa's status on Tuesday, 09-Apr-2024 22:46:28 JST frogzone @r @nimda @silverpill @icedquinn @p oh nice! that would be good, thanks. thats what i assumed search by "statuses" was because thats just how search works on mastodon iirc (fwiw "statuses" search is not working for mitra via bloat either). i prefer using hashtags for topics... don't really need to be found based on random word choices, typically when publishing something i'll use a few hashtags.

frogzone@wizard.casa's status on Sunday, 24-Mar-2024 00:36:11 JST frogzone @nimda @silverpill @pseudocute just logged into your bloat now... it looks great, there are minor cosmetic quirks but apart from that it seemed to function, eg. I was able to 'Like' posts.
i just tried to do this reply post via Bloat, both as visibility "unlisted" and then "public", but got "Error, bad request: 400 Bad Request: unsupported content type" both times, so I posted it from the usual mitra web UI.
re bloat cosmetics: there MAY be other options to improve UI... all i did was change to the dark theme, pronto. :)

frogzone@wizard.casa's status on Saturday, 23-Mar-2024 01:03:01 JST frogzone @nimda @pseudocute this is super neat! i will redouble my efforts towards getting javascript enabled in the browser that i'm using for i2p.
i need a way to imitate the javascript profile that tor browser has, i don't want to use tor browser (or mullvad broswer by torproject) because I think that gives too much power to tor project devs.
hmm... i wonder if tokodon will work. it apparently has proxy connection options but i think its designed only for mastodon?
anyway, i'm very pleased by this news!! congrats!!
exciting times for fedi!

The leaders in the west just don't want to educate their own citizens on how to not be raped.
wonder why?

frogzone@wizard.casa's status on Friday, 09-Feb-2024 11:28:19 JST frogzone >CloudFlare hates Tor
The free tier of CF blocks Tor in most circumstances yes, but methinks you may be shocked by how many sites are paying extortion money to CF.
>iptables trumps plugins
Yes! Agree 100%! Iptables is awesome. That firewall setup I linked above uses iptables. See line 4378. Blocks CF ip addresses in AS13335, 14789, 132892, 133877, 139242, 202623, 203898, 209242, 394536, 395747.
Its not the best bash script I've read, in fact its not even a proper bash script but its gotta be one of the most useful things I've ever read. If you dislike oligarchy as much as I do then you'll appreciate the Amazon and Akamai ip address lists too. :)

frogzone@wizard.casa's status on Friday, 09-Feb-2024 05:34:18 JST frogzone >I use one (cloudflare blocker), it's called "Tor".
That's not exactly a CF blocker though. Sure, its protecting you from being trivially identified by hiding your IP address from CF, but they can still aggregate the data you are feeding it by using a service they control. And can probably do worse things.
I prefer to be informed that a site is CF so you can avoid using it at all. A handy add-on for Tor Browser is Block Cloudflare MITM Attack. The default settings block CF immediately, though which is a behavior-based fingerprint problem, I use the setting that turns the addon icon red. That doesn't protect from Amazon Cloudfront or Akamai though. The tool I use the most is the Antitrust Firewall.

frogzone@wizard.casa's status on Thursday, 08-Feb-2024 15:22:22 JST frogzone @lanodan @p @p I was going to say this about the CF'd site too. Just block that crap. There are cloudflare blockers out there of all types and sizes, get one, save yourself, time, money, sanity.
