@TopBep@Meemoo Is Ryujinx better? I've never used it, so I have no idea how it compares to Yuzu. Admittedly it will probably *have* to get better considering the influx of people they might be getting soon.
@Meemoo@Ronnie21093@TopBep The yuzu devs ARE cunts. They completely abandoned citra when it still barely ran fire emblem and senran kagura.
They constantly paywalled shit, including normal fucking features like the god damn on screen keyboard, making it impossible to play mon hun GU without importing a save for months because you couldn't create a fucking character.
Definitely stick with ryujinx, and hopefully someone with a fucking brain forks citra.
@Ronnie21093@Meemoo@TopBep they usually dont fuck with people unless they have OPEN donation pages or are their bi-annual target rom site but who fucking knows these days. I doubt switch is getting any decent new games so make sure you have the latest ryujinx build just in case I guess. It runs all the good shit just fine already.
@Kyonko802@Ronnie21093@Meemoo@TopBep This is why open source is kind of a must. Someone with the source code could fork it and keep it going when the original gets shut down. Sets up a hydra situation.
@Kyonko802@Ronnie21093@TopBep I hope this means Ryujinx gets more donations at least. I never understood why people flocked to Yuzu when Ryujinx is simply better
@Meemoo@Ronnie21093@TopBep because people were used to following the citra devs, even though they, you know, all but abandoned that project and left it stagnant.
@Meemoo Y'know, the Yuzu devs were such large cucks at times, I wouldn't be surprised if they wrote this themselves. It'd make more sense if a lawyer wrote it, but I could very well see Yuzu's team actually agreeing with Nintendo and being so pissed at their own users, they decide to end support without a fight. Also >Citra fans These fucks stopped actively developing Citra before it could even run all the first party games on the system, like Kirby Planet Robobot. The emulator is full of nonstop slowdowns trying to run it.
@Kyonko802@Meemoo@Ronnie21093@TopBep It really kinda hurts to lose citra, me and my friends were using it to relive monster hunter 3 ultimate since it had local only. Never used ryujinx, but I guess it's time to try it, unless they suddenly do a flip off a building too, didn't think yuzu would fold that fast.
@Kyonko802@Meemoo@Ronnie21093@TopBep Oh we got local copies, we just didn't want to use our 3ds. My buddys got bad eyes and he hates using the small screens.
@Meemoo You know what's one thing I actually hate about Yuzu? I can't control its install path. Either I'm a troglodyte, or it's legitimately not a feature. Both could be true. @Kyonko802@Ronnie21093@TopBep
@Meemoo@Spooke@Ronnie21093@TopBep was yuzus code even public? I know they had a git but their behavior sure as fuck wasn't FOSS. Shitting on people trying to help them.
@Meemoo@Ronnie21093@Spooke@TopBep hope they have to deal with this shit for the rest of their lives. Especially if others get hit by this shit. It's the least they deserve.
@Ronnie21093@lewdthewides@Kyonko802@Meemoo@TopBep take a guess at the country where 20% of the country is still in anarchy and in gang territory where the police can't barely get in without a mw2 Esq firefight
@Ronnie21093@Kyonko802@Meemoo@TopBep DMCA isn't enforceable outside of America. Worst they can do is take down the Patreon, Github repo, and any repo hosted on foreign servers that choose to respect DMCA requests. Nintendo has to deal with the Brazilian legal system if they want to gag the devs
@Ronnie21093@Kyonko802@Meemoo@TopBep I heard they're :shrazil: so that ain't happening soon. Maybe they'll fuck around with the github repo a bit, but nothing gitea can't fix
@Meemoo@luithe@Kyonko802@Ronnie21093@TopBep@lewdthewides Nintendo has a very weird story with Brazil. The NES, for instance, was only officially released in here in the mid 90`s, the 8 bit Nintendo console everyone played here in the 80's were the clones like the Phantom System and the Dynavision, that was the main reason of the first lawsuit the guy mentions. Those systems also had the advantage that they could accept both American and Japanese cartridges, because Nintendo was so shitty back then that they made different slots so you couldn't use Famicom games on a NES and vice-versa.
I remember in the 90s piracy of SNES and N64 cartridges was very common, and nothing was ever done about it. Nintendo kinda tried partnership with another company to release the Gamecube in here, but it was very short lived, and indeed, they only came back with official releases after the 3DS.
Thing about courts in here is that they aren't very litigious, and they are extremely anti companies, that's why Brazil is always in those "top countries hostile to business" lists. We have very strong consumer laws, and those consumer laws are one of the few things in this country that works fine. Companies know better than to mess with the "Consumer Defense Code", a lot of companies that get away with monopolistic or anti consumer practices in other countries (specially the USA) tend to get absolutely screwed in here, and they usually have to develop some special sets of rules to accomodate us. And so, whenever Nintendo tries to be litigious and sue for piracy bullshit, they tend to get absolutely screwed. This goes even harder for Nintendo because Nintendo doesn't have any plants in Brazil, and the government doesn`t like that, so every time they try to be litigious courts go against them.
@Kyonko802@Meemoo@Ronnie21093@TopBep I ment to ask so im sorry if this is necroing a dead thread, but do you know a good place to grab the firmware and keys for Ryujinx? I figure if yuzu is biting the bullet, I'll need to learn ryujinx.
@Meemoo@Kyonko802@Ronnie21093@TopBep Thank you! Just trying to be polite i guess lol. Also thanks for reminding me how old i am, I definitely remember those forums..
@Suzu@Meemoo@Kyonko802@Ronnie21093@TopBep@lewdthewides let me guess, the court literally told Nintendo "you don't even make the consoles anymore, you already lost the privilege to sue because you don't even offer original hardware anymore"
