Some of the best VNs are kinetic. The mere act of clicking to further the dialogue constitutes an interactive effect since there is action on screen, due to the visual and aural layers. Something that's not the case with a book, and neither in video media that proceed completely autonomous. I'm a big fan of the VN medium. -

Russia tested its newest hypersonic intercontinental nuclear missile today, the Avangard system. The first and most recent test occurred in 2015 before it entered service in 2019.
News from all over the middle east reached the internet of a strange flying object in the sky. They saw the (hopefully empty) warhead of the Avangard.

Palmer Luckey, born in 1992, was homeschooled by his mother.
At age 15 he took college courses in electronics and engineering. At age 17 he built the prototype of what would become the Oculus in his father's garage, earning the money for the parts through various jobs like repairing iPhones and groundskeeping.
At age 20 he launched a Kickstarter for his Oculus Rift, earning him the attention and public support of industry giants like John Carmack and Gabe Newell. At age 22 (2014) Luckey sold the Oculus to Facebook for 2 billion dollars.
In 2016, Facebook fired Luckey for his support of Donald Trump. He went on to found Anduril Industries, a startup focused on autonomous drones and military sensor technology.
In 2018, Anduril began a pilot program for the US government to detect human trafficking and drug smuggling in remote areas of the southern border; leading to 55 attempted entrants being caught in its first 12 days in operation.
In 2020 Anduril won a billion dollar contract from the US Air Force for the development of Advanced Battle Management Systems. Another billion dollar contract followed in 2022 from United States Special Operations Command for unmanned counter systems. Contracts with the Australian military followed soon after.
In December 2023 Anduril revealed the Roadrunner, a subsonic autonomous drone and reusable missile hybrid with high maneuverability, able to launch and land vertically. Estimates put the Roadrunner to have three times the warhead payload, three times the maneuverability under g-forces, and 10 times the one-way range of comparable air vehicles.
Forbes lists Luckey as one of the richest entrepreneurs under 40. He also has an anime pfp on his Twitter and mentioned the Matrix and Sword Art Online as one of his inspirations.

It always surprises me how vicious some people react when confronted with Japanese pop culture (it's not only anime or the cute aspects of it). You see what you thought as normal people say things like "we should have dropped three," or "the camps were a good idea" (referencing the concentration camps in America for Japanese immigrants).
I sometimes try to understand this sudden rage and hatred at the slightest trace of anything Japanese, but I can't get my head around it. Rather than an intellectual obstacle, I fail to empathize with these feelings. To me it feels like a criminal, murderous energy seething with hatred and perhaps jealousy. -
