@Immahnoob oh, yeah. Trade league kinda sucks because of the bots and the spam in the chat.
The community tends to be pretty nice, but it's hard to just rely on them being honest. The ideal is to check out poe.market for an item similar to the one you're selling to have a better idea of the actual value.
-
@Immahnoob I enjoyed Last Epoch. It felt as a good middle ground between Diablo's retardness and PoE's autism.
The craft system is also pretty neat, and makes playing SSF a very pleasant experience.
The story was a bit so-so and all over the place, but the game was still enjoyable to play and I can see myself coming back every season to play for a bit.
-
@Immahnoob heh, I always played SSF, even in Grim Dawn or seasonal ARPGs like Last Epoch. It's neat because you learn to enjoy crafting items instead of just buying whatever you need. Granted, we have way less venues to craft cool items than we had in PoE1, but it's still neat.
The only thing I'm not doing anymore is being a sweaty HC player. I used to play HCSSF until the last PoE1 league I played, which was 2 years ago or so, but completely gave up when I was playing the Last Epoch "mini season" that ran last August, because I got tired of bullshit one shots. There is no fucking way I'd play PoE2 in beta and with the "paradigm changes" in HC.

@Immahnoob lightning is too slow at first, and doesn't scale well until you have the nodes with mana shit and archmage and whatnot. Frostbomb/Ice Wall are safer because you can just throw them at the boss and dodge the atacks and mechanics while they take effect.
As for the solo/carry stuff, I have no idea because I'm antisocial and play SSF.
-
@Immahnoob nice. I am doing a spark Stormcaster build, but for the campaign using frost bomb and ice wall was just way easier, especially for bosses.

@kilostere @Rasterman @shippoaster I look at the difference between Diablo 2 and Diablo 3. In Diablo 2, as much as there was very little the characters said or did to "show their personality", the fact that every character was actually a character instead of just being a class that you could staple in a customizable chassis gave them some charm.
Diablo 3 with their "pick your gender" classes feels very dull in comparison, and actually I remember back at release, one of the things people were most excited about was that the male Barbarian was the same character from Diablo 2, but older.
I like some games having customization options, especially the ones in which you are supposed to "immerse in", and pretend you are the MC. But at the same time, I think some games should have just that: cool and charismatic characters you can pick and see them acting and have their own personality.
What I really hate is this "middle ground". Just picking a hair color, or the gender, with no real customization while at the same time not creating a real character. It strikes me as lazy, and slop.
-
@shippoaster @Rasterman kinda same.
I'm playing PoE2 now, and it has distinct characters, not classes. You don't play as a sorceress class, you play as the Sorceress. You play as the Warrior. The Monk. Etc. They each have their own personality, they are characters, even though the game is not exactly a role playing game in the "roleplay" sense, it's fun to see how each of them reacting differently to things.
And then I have to see a bunch of spergs complaining in the game chat that they wished the characters were just generic blobs that you could chose the gender of, like in Diablo 3 and 4, so you could play with either a male warrior or a female warrior, and I hope all these people have a painful death and the developers never listen to them.
Not everything needs to be a customizable spergfest.

@MK2boogaloo reminds me of the classic
-
@teto @Immahnoob he has a GBA emulator with FireRed and LeafGreen, but he wants to play Yellow because you start with Pikachu like in the anime
-
@Immahnoob @teto same, I was very disappointed, especially because my first interaction with a Pokémon in a game was Pikachu in Super Smash Bros, and needless to say, for a 10yo kid, going from Pikachu zapping around in Smash to the turn based gameplay of Pokémon is very underwhelming.
-
@teto @Immahnoob it grew on me over time.
I gifted my nephew a chink handheld that is an emulation machine, and got him into playing Pokémon Yellow, he's enjoying it a lot because it follows the story of the classic anime, which he has already seen.
-
@Immahnoob @teto same.
I played Pokémon the first time on a PC, with an emulator

@teto back in the good old days there were more simple games. I remember when I was young, point and click LucasArts adventure games were all the rage, and those were simple to play. The other games that existed were mostly scary (for a ked) FPS titles and simple platformers.
It seems to me that nowadays there are very few PC games that cater to a young kid audience, when compared to the Switch, for instance. Granted I don't search for those, so I might be biased.
Because if a little kid could put a CD on the PC and play the game, then a kid can navigate a simple menu and click on the game they want to play, the fact the SteamDeck is digital-only is no hindrance at all.
-
@teto I think even the interface is more confusing to a young kid, and also PC games tend to be made for an older audience.
I'm visiting my mom, and my 9 yo nephew plays a little with my ROG Ally (not the same interface, the Ally runs Windows, but Armoury Crate does a good job of putting a simple interface to just choose a game to play), and I need to be over him all the time to help him navigate and to help him with the games, as even something like Holocure can be a bit overwhelming to a kid like that.

@MK2boogaloo same vibes

@captain_arepa @mactonite I remember you're from South America, but it's not Venezuela, right?
Colombia?
Thankfully the part of Brazil that has a frontier with Venezuela is the part I don't care about, so communist shenanigans out there don't affect me.
It must suck big time being their direct neighbor.
-
So I was visiting my mom during the holidays, spent 3 weeks there.
My mom has a female cat. The cat kinda hates me.
She hides when I get there, and then she hisses and bites me and scratches me hard when I pick her up, and she get very mad when I poke her and things like that. My arms are full of scratch and bite marks.
Now, I went back home earlier today, and my mom just sent me a picture saying the cat is utterly depressed that I'm not there, she's meowing and going back and forth and sniffing my room, and just laying around looking at nothing.

@captain_arepa @mint @creamqueen if the pandemic taught us anything, is that toilet paper is at the very bottom of the pyramid of basic human needs, and people use 2-3 rolls per day or else they won't survive.
