   Women in white-collar medicine (nurses, too to a slightly lesser extent) have a real problem where they build up an ego from being surrounded by high-flying ‘successful’ male doctors in a stressful, isolated pressure cooker of a workplace for days on end.

   In the end she comes home to her stay-at-home hubby after playing doctor around $500,000/yr guys feeling like she could do better - all because everyone at work is probably telling her she deserves to do better - and before you know it she’s banging her “work husband”

   I know it can work, conceivably, but the guy can’t let himself slip. He can hang even if she makes more than him, but he’s going to have to be cooler/more popular/more likable/charismatic/etc so that she never starts getting into that habit of looking elsewhere.

   A lot of the pilots-married-to-pilots have this crap too. IDK how they do it, freaks me out. The smart ones take the monetary hit and let her stay at home while the kids are young, and then go back to work when they’re older (and she’s hopefully more settled in the wife/mom role, scaffolded by the community)

     @Xeraser If my gal were a doctor I’d be subly planning out a route where we make do w/ less money and she stays home for a couple kids, when the youngest gets to 4th grade she starts working part time at a privately held clinic (b/c most will take anyone they can get, no matter the specialty) with that slowly ramping up as the kids get to be teens and require more funding to build their own lives.

     That would keep her out of the sexual pressure cooker while she’s in that “oh shit CAN I do better? I’m around millionaire doctors all the time, I deserve one of them!!!” phases in the early/mid 30’s

     But it’s all less necessary w/ family and community. If you have people that would judge her for abandoning her family, it becomes a lot less likely. THat’s why good careers fall prey to this, you become strangers in a foreign land where you don’t have to worry about your reputation.

     @DEERBLOOD @Xeraser No idea, too many variables for your own life. I wouldn’t give you the usual blackpill diagnosis that most do whenever the wife earns more, it’s just a risk factor to deal with and mitigate. I think charm counters a whole lot, being the guy her coworkers insist she brings along on outings would help (though it’s an even better thing if she just rushes home the second shifts end)

     You’ll get a feel for it when it’s coming. The wife starts feeling more kinship with work and the people there than home, starts seeing herself in that professional role more than a family one. I haven’t been in the scene for a long time but I wouldn’t really love the anonymity of a big hospital complex, smaller, more intimate clinics of a couple partners would help prevent shenanigans (and they’re often more female-dense because of the QoL benefits IME)

     I’d have to talk to the guys w/ professional wives to see what they do. I’ve met a number who seem to have it figured out, where she works and doesn’t try to become the man of the house herself, the only thing I can really think of is that they’re all still relatively in-shape, still hard working, still invested in the relationship, and not wasting their time on ZOGshit.

     If your 6-fig wife comes home to see you gaming……well ruh roh raggy

     @wgiwf @Xeraser Gotta deal w/ what you got though. And there is some use for women in medicine. They can be great practicioners, in the emotional, break-bad-news sort of way.

     Clinically, it doesn’t even matter since nobody’s sherlocking off the top of their head like they used to. Everyone’s forced into charting software and flows for dx

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @wgiwf @Xeraser women seem naturally suited to medicine, especially in roles where they can avoid some responsibility. hard as a doc but there are plenty of large orgs that just need someone in the scrubs and white coat to handle day to day doctorin, not life or death trauma shit. pediatrics as well

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @Xeraser I honestly don't see her going the specialist route. She's aleady having a hard time in her intern year of residency. I'm expecting she'll stick with pediatrics, but I'm not sure if she'd prefer the hospital or clinic
     
     I joke about wanting to be a stay at home dad but really I can't see myself ever giving anyone that kind of leverage over me and I intend to always have my own income, even if it's not to her level I can hold my own

     @DEERBLOOD @Xeraser If I were her I’d be eyeballing a small town insta-care clinic, maybe a partner where she can set the course and see pt’s at her leisure.

     Keep in mind the vast majority of women drop out of medicine once they have kids, spend about a decade out, and come back. No matter how ‘fulfilling’ it is, it pales compared to the kids.

     Residency is just another one of the weed-out gates where they’re trying to sift the unworthy. It gets easier as she goes on. I guess the whole 70% female med student body works in your favor, because the old system used to see a whole lot of intramural shenanigans in the stressful phases

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @DEERBLOOD @Xeraser those scare now clinics are meat grinders. white docs do not belong in em. a decent, qualified doc should be able to swing at least a practice job. see plenty of woman docs doing part time, 3 day a week plus saturday morning sort of deals when they have kids

     @Paultron @DEERBLOOD @Xeraser My knowledge is significantly colored by being in a white area, so you get nothing but nice UMC white people paying full price. In small town rural america I’ve heard good things, esp. if you’re a prepper type willing to barter once in a while.

     All comes down to demographics. Private clinics rule for QoL though, used to know one ladydoc who only worked thurs/fri from about 0900-0100

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @DEERBLOOD @Xeraser i make a living going to random docs and i've seen most areas of the usa in this fashion. not the care nows but some of my larger corpo clients run similar specialist outfits, little leased square footages in strip malls on the periphery where they hid a doc, 3 techs and some machines to catch referrals through medicare or government subsidies. while rural areas are better than cities the places that are rural, white, but still prosperous enough that even the less outfitted urgent care joints are decent are getting real rare. the dollar tree-ification of america is getting real advanced and it's not limited to selling chinese plastic and dubious beef jerky

     @boburtle @wgiwf @Xeraser My beef with it is that so many guys see the feminisim and respect it too much as an adversary. I get playing it cautious to an extent, but so many flee every battlefield as if every single presenting feminist is a total landmine.

     In a private capacity you can laugh at them, make fun of them, and just be honest about retardation (as long as you’ve got the “charisma stat”, I guess)

     I hate seeing otherwise solid white boys just act like all hope is lost without even trying - they never learn how flimsy all those feminist priors are once you’re actually (lovingly)pinning her into submission

Wonder if a contract season would be worth it, bounce around a bit to see which one is the best before settling down with one

Most women in relationships walk all over their boyfriends and husbands, since men have been gaslit by the feminist holocaust of the "abusive husband" into hating the idea of yelling at a shitty woman let alone getting physical with one. This has increasingly been the norm since the 60s and 70s. There has to be a hard reset in the culture and I think young men giving themselves space away from women is the first step in igniting that change. Most young White guys have been *surrounded* by women their entire lives, their teachers are mostly women and half of their classmates are girls. The average 14 yo girl has a major psychological advantage over the average 14 yo boy, mixing boys and girls together gives girls the perfect platform to groom boys into being their simps and female teachers only encourage this, and this dynamic has been festering for a few generations.
     
     I'm sure you're right in that there's a lot of White men that could smooth talk a pretty woman into bed if they bit the bullet and gave it a shot but there is so much more to relationships than being good at pandering to a woman's lust or her desire for entertainment. Most men have not been taught how to keep a woman in line in a relationship and in fact most men have internalized retarded shiboleths that obstruct them from doing that to begin with. Before WW2 it wasn't uncommon for a man to take his wife over his knee if she crossed the line too many times. To return to a healthy patriarchal culture young men are going to need to remove themselves from the ZOG longhouse and form a new counter culture, which is what is happening now in spaces like this

     @boburtle @wgiwf @Xeraser I never appreciated how utterly, superlatively based my dad was growing up, at least in terms of the WQ. If he had a catchphrase, it would be “don’t parent me, woman. I do whatever the fuck I want, you’re along for the ride” or somesuch playful variant. He’d listen to her to an extent, but it was always clear she could only ever advise him, never order him. He’s just unruly and unmanageable, a king in his castle that can only be supplicated to placate her wishes. Lucky for her, she’s lovable enough that he nearly always did.

     Funny enough their marriage is going strong, because he’s a man and she is indeed contentedly along for the ride. When she calms down she would tell us “I know, it bugs me but he’s given me a very good life. I’ve never had to work a single job after high school.” GFs would always balk at it and say “I can’t believe he disrespects her like that!” but then love it just as much when I do it to them.

     We’d be so, so much better off if boys had dads courageous (haha) enough to say “woman, I’ll do what I want. You aren’t my mother, quit acting like it“. But, then again, a lot of boomer men, in their sloth, actually like having a mommy-wife, because her captainship frees him from having to support the weight of responsibility.

     (and only in this era of Zog is such an arrangement even somewhat workable. In all others a woman-led home would crumble)

     I think about relationships/fidelity in terms of scaffolding. Things that lessen the chances of divorce and cheating are things like -
     - Would the community judge you for doing so?
     - Would you lose access to relationships you value?
     - Will people notice quickly if you step out of line? (i.e. do the neighbors ask whose truck is in your driveway)
     - Does the family aim to keep your marriage intact?
