Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks@Xeraser If my gal were a doctor I’d be subly planning out a route where we make do w/ less money and she stays home for a couple kids, when the youngest gets to 4th grade she starts working part time at a privately held clinic (b/c most will take anyone they can get, no matter the specialty) with that slowly ramping up as the kids get to be teens and require more funding to build their own lives.
That would keep her out of the sexual pressure cooker while she’s in that “oh shit CAN I do better? I’m around millionaire doctors all the time, I deserve one of them!!!” phases in the early/mid 30’s
But it’s all less necessary w/ family and community. If you have people that would judge her for abandoning her family, it becomes a lot less likely. THat’s why good careers fall prey to this, you become strangers in a foreign land where you don’t have to worry about your reputation.
