   IDK if people understand that being drafted will be a very streamlined and well-thought out process, to the point where the only authority figures you could possibly murder will be guys that you actually like and respect. They’ll put you through training w/ NCO’s just like you that don’t deserve to get cavitated, while making sure righteous targets are safely insulated from your armed presence throughout the entire experience. Every direction from ZOG will filter through a good guys regretfully relaying their orders with a grimace.

   Guys will think they can just pilot that apache to the rear lines or rotate their 155 a cool 180º without issue and that’s probably not too accurate. If I had to guess the only demons in the drafting apparatus exposed to actual danger will be MP’s, and anyone bagging civilians.

     @chainsaw_appreciator I know I just keep hearing this from the kids and it’s a chance to mention it. They really think conscription is just showing up after boot camp and being given a machine gun to carry around for 5 years, no armories, controls, no oversight. Instead it’ll be like prison, and you’ll only get arms when you’re caged with one side to the enemy

     it's not like vietnam, where the overwhelming majority of people not only still believed in america but believed they'd have shot at a decent future. it was entirely reasonable for someone to believe that if they just kept their head down and followed orders, they'd be out in a couple years, get a free college degree with their GI bill, score a high paying job, and buy a house in the suburbs like their parents. tell that tale today and everyone will think you're doing a bit to mock the boomers.
     it's not like ukraine or elsewhere in europe, there's no shortage of guns already in civilian hands.
     there's very little reason for zoomers NOT to shoot the goon giving them a draft notice

     It's going to be psychologically brutal for everyone if they continue along the current path. There probably isn't much discussion happening about volunteer enlistment. They can't meet goals now.
     
     Conscription is probably the only option available. They're probably very aware that this will result in rebellion from the remaining founding-stock population. To counter this, they'll do as they've done many times throughout history; invoke the Insurrection Act to grant emergency authorities.
     
     The internal conflict will be different due to demographics. The 'we're all the same' mask will have to be removed completely. Options about how to manage the internal conflicts are probably being discussed now. It will be much more serious than 'hide them in the attic'.

     their recruitment isn't this low just because nobody wants to fight for israel, it's also because everybody is fat and on drugs.
     
     theres also the problem of the economy barely keeping it together as it is, if you start pulling too many of the people that are actually keeping things running, the country is gonna fall apart around them and make an even bigger mess.

They were undoubtedly the best military during that period.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @MeBigbrain @chainsaw_appreciator On the contrary, the US military is significantly less suited to absorb a big influx of draftees -- especially ones who really don't want to be there -- than some halfass rabble "army" in eastern europe.
     
     The training pipeline isn't set up for it, unit organization isn't designed around conscripts, chain of command isn't, doctrine isn't. The US military simply does not work without high quality volunteer soldiers.
