     @demonofustio @Gran3Walder it's a chapter from "This Kind of War" by T.R. Fehrenbach.

     It's a book I recommend, even if the guy's a bit of a 60's liberal.

     But this chapter ("Proud Legions") in particular details some of the changes made to the military post-WW2 that began the process of faggifying it. He doesn't call it that, of course, but you can see some of the starts of the breakdown in discipline, hierarchy, tradition, etc.

     one could question why bother having them in the military at all, of course, but I suppose the higher ups want legions of rape apes to terrorize friend and foe.

     SO... the question is what is true then? Were the elite as history described them to be true or was that fabricated?
     
     I can know for a fact the 762nd unit was legit as Patton recommended them to be part of his army. Tuskeegee airmen is considered true because we can recount bomber crews testimony of them being saved by the red tailed devils. Now other blacks in mixed units... i dont know whole detail. Which is why im reuired to read this later.

     @samjayganges @demonofustio @lichelordgodfrey @Gran3Walder Pretty much. It's an argument I have with a lot of boomers because they love worshipping it. I don't respect any of the aces from the latter half of the war, going up in a late model mustang in 1945 and blowing up 18 yo krauts with all of 20 hours total time isn't the most amazing accomplishment. Same with the japs. A guy in a Wildcat in 1941 taking on zeroes is a hell of a lot more badass than a guy with a hellcat in 1945.

     I did a thread on it and that's what I recall, the red tails weren't anything special, they just got Mustangs with long enough legs to provide cover the whole way (as opposed to the older lightnings, thunderbolts, etc the other guys had used before where they couldn't cover an out and back flight, leaving them vulnerable)

     I have a theory that there were elements throughout the rear echelon that knew what they were doing, it's weird how those black units on air and land only ever got permission to deploy once the greatest danger had passed - almost like some jew was running PR for his grandson to trump up. Once the real danger passes and you can start mopping up, you push the white boys forward and let the blacks "secure the area"

     @demonofustio @samjayganges @lichelordgodfrey @Gran3Walder Kind of but it didn't really matter, the 262 didn't have the support it needed. Give it the best damn pilot in history and it's still going to get blown up while on final, because it had poor endurance, and the US knew where to find them.

     That's where we get those cool FW190s with the red underbelly, it's their version of invasion stripes. They hardened the 262 fields with AA and lower alt fighters in an effort to protect them, but they were sitting ducks.

     I don't think there's anything you could do to turn the tide there. America's industrial output is ludicrous back then, and our pilots were just shockingly astute at dissecting their opponents and finding their weaknesses.

The guy who was supposed to keep up with my additional duties while I was deployed didn't do jack shit and I got reamed by a Major for it during an inspection just days after getting back. Fun times.

     That jules aksa guy is my go-to case study: "When pressed with an emergency in the simulator, he would randomly, blindly hit switches and controls in sheer panic, we could not break that habit"

     And then he got hired NQA at a cargo carrier so he could kill a few competent guys

     It was something the French did with their African colonial troops against the Germans in the "Black Horror on the Rhine" just after the end of World War 1.

     The African troops themselves refused to fight for the French unless there was a prize of a woman (or man) for rape, and.. they let them have that.

     iirc there were similar shenanigans going on in Italy with "African-American" troops, against the Italians in WW2.

     Used to talk about the grudges against BMW too. He was pretty based for an old military man in the 90s. He saw my enthusiasm for WWII models and he'd sometimes try to convey "it was a horrific tragedy, it was just two white, christian nations slaughtering each other for no damn good reason". He never went much more into detail, which may have been smart to keep young me from spilling spaghetti about it everywhere I went.

     (He didn't have much affection for the japs, but did respect them. He saw their modern existance as a black stain, as if the best and tallest were killed off, leaving only the cowards, faggots, and nerds to breed.)

And 20 years almost to the day after 9/11 I watched the Taliban take the country back like all we did there never even happened.
