My whole objection is that there is no reason for earth to ever exist if heaven is what God really wanted to make all along.

  Garden of Eden was the original paradise. Humanity was unsatisfied with paradise because they took it for granted and had no conception of what it would be like to lose that paradise and suffer. Suffering teaches us gratitude, and gratitude opens our hearts to feeling joy. There's a reason why the risen Christ still has the wounds of the cross, they are His ultimate gift to us, that they might remind us to be grateful and joyful eternally.

  God didn't specify how quickly they would die. I'm personally grateful that it wasn't an instant death that offered no hope for redemption and salvation.

  Getting kicked out of Eden is not what God promised for eating the fruit of knowledge. Dying instantly was what God promised would happen.
  If you think Eden was an actual place then that makes Jehovah a liar and Satan a messenger of truth. Bringing you back to Gnostic cosmology.
