@lightweight Yeah find National's talking points right now attrocious, but I'm also very disturbed currently by Labor.
I guess the 3rd parties are there for a reason...

Personally I prefer to thank specific projects as a way to celebrate how much of it we have in libre software. So my question: What's one of your favourites for whatever it is you do?
Declarative Shadow DOM - WebKit: https://webkit.org/blog/13851/declarative-shadow-dom/
@marcan sometimes you need to bring up a storm and create a huge backlash to make people realize how broken something is.
I'm sure a lot of good developers gave up and will never try to contribute to the kernel again.
A better process makes it better for everyone
Our partners in @ExtinctionNZ took action inside the regional Air New Zealand Koru lounge inside Christchurch airport. They protested against frequent flyer schemes that reward the rich and powerful for their luxury emissions.

I was going to say some more words on this myself...
I will not promise that Haphaestus will not "break the web" by never removing any features it implements. I will promise that I'll be careful that any features I add would not significantly break your site if I decide to remove them. Or if futures don't support them!
(And before someone sidles into my mentions to tell me how this is a bad idea: I learned my lessons with corporate-controlled languages back when Java ran in your browser. Your words are like kindling to your own roasting. Approach with caution.)
@cybertailor That does look nice!
@TheEvilSkeleton This reminds me of a blogpost I like...

Minister Trike: "People get a cute pet & a way to clean up after them whilst I get their money. Everyone wins! Well, mostly I win but that matters."
Kaley Fawn: "These rags don't even work, all they do is spread the goop around."
Minister Trike: "I never said they work, who knows what works on these things?"
@neauoire I've tried a couple of times over the years to create an Apple Developer account. Each time, I create the account, then try to log in. And they say I have the wrong password.
I tried once to get Discord to send me notifications to a channel. It says the channel has too many people, I need to create my own server then forward messages to it, then subscribe to my own server. It never worked.
There's some subtlety of the market economy and natural selection that I just don't get.
Many years ago I considered putting Oquonie on the steam store, I gave up because I couldn't navigate the insanity that is the steamworks website.
Today, I thought I should try it again, but I can't figure it out. It's like every other page is a 404, or a blank page that just looks like [Object object]. Utterly unusable. :bloat:
Got my calc() implementation, using the Shunting Yard Algorithm, working! Tests pointed out an end-case I missed, but other than that the typechecker caught everything!
To be clear: most people don't know why this is a problem. Here're a few reasons:
1. it aligns you with a brand that many people consider poisonous, and
2. it shows you don't have your tech shit together enough to have your own branded email, and
3. it means your email communications are totally dependent on a (usually free) email service that is *harvesting data from every email *I* send to that person* and is adding data to an ad profile for me that they sell to their actual customers. Yuck
This free software project deserves donation:

Boost is highly appreciated.
You can also do #FreeSoftwareDonation toots like this to support another projects.
I cry inside a little every time I see an otherwise credible person rocking an @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, @hotmail.com (ugh), @outlook.com, or, in NZ, an @xtra.co.nz, or, perish the thought, @clear.net.nz (among other yucky corporate email providers). Shows they don't know 'how to digital' well enough to exist comfortably in a modern world. Unfortunately, that's 95% of the population. Which is just one reason (of many!) I think we're in the thick of a digital Dark Age. https://davelane.nz/darkage
Draft CatTrap API compiles, & a canary testsuite runs.
Now I can test my Shunting Yard calc() parser/interpreter...
@colby They should be rewritten in Haskell! /s
Actually might not be a bad idea...
