Another option is to use followers-only visibility for a post, which means only your followers can reply but also means only followers will see the post.
You can't forbid replies, though this is a very popular requested feature. (People comfortable with using github can vote for it by giving a thumbs up at https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/8565)
You can mute and block people, but to remove the reply itself you may need to ask for help from your server admin. However, they will generally only intervene if the reply is breaking the server's rules.
Yes, you can hide your follows and followers on Mastodon:
1. Log in on the website 2. Go to Edit Profile 3. Click on Privacy & Reach tab 4. Un-tick the box marked "show follows & followers" 5. Click "Save Changes" button
I think you have to log in to get full text search, so you would need an account on mastodon.social to search via there.
For tech.lgbt though I get the same problem even when logged in, so it seems like full text search is broken there? I wonder if @mods can help with this?
I'm not completely sure on how necessary it is, I am not a developer. Sorry ๐
Accounts only show up on Mastodon searches if someone on that server is following them, or if they have been interacted with by someone on your server.
So, if you want to get your blog noticed in searches it's a good idea to tell people on Mastodon etc its address and encourage them to follow the blog.
