I think you should read this: https://astralcodexten.substack.com/p/your-book-review-cities-and-the-wealth. It's a review of two books arguing that we should think of economics in terms of smaller units than we do currently (cities and the regions around them instead of nation-states) and that secessionism is generally good. I don't necessarily agree with it 100% but I found it interesting and I think you would too.
In fact, so might @coolboymew (one of the books was about Québec separatism)
