Crust on a pizza is a structurally required containment barrier to stop the cheese from sliding off. It's not treated like food, it's not seasoned or sauced like the real food part of the pizza. It's the baking equivalent of those rubber mats you put at the entrance of a garage to stop oil and gas spills from escaping into the driveway.
You don't eat structural supports or rubber mats, people.

@PraxisOfEvil The "pushing 40 and never really accomplished much with my life" thing is common for men in the modern world. It's what triggers the traditional male mid-life crisis. We get it even when we have the job, savings, wife, 2.5 kids, house with the picket fence, etc.
Point being, it has little to do with your financial picture and more to do with the meaninglessness of what you already identified, working just to live, without building up something that will last.
Don't listen to anyone who says to just power through it or whatever. Start today and identify something meaningful to build up or save up. Then arrange your life to make gains immediately, even if small ones. Otherwise that feeling doesn't go away.

Also, her father died a few years ago, so he's not fixing anything at this point.

@mushroom_soup @WashedOutGundamPilot How about every newlywed couple gets $10k as a zero interest loan? Except they get it in vouchers for furniture, linens, etc to set up a new house, not cash they could waste on a vacation.
Then every time they have a kid, the government forgives $2500 of the loan.

As for caring for the animals, keeping them in an environment like this should be considered abuse. (The little black circles on the ground are feces.)
