@MK2boogaloo Morning Kero :D
-
@MK2boogaloo apologies, I didn't see this until just now xD
I am afraid the truth is that, traditions are powerless to safeguard anything.
A story from the Bible if you will. That when the Israelites were in the desert, and dying from snake bites, Moses hung a spent upon a staff, and all who looked on it were healed.
Now, fast forward, the serpent on the end of the stick, and become tradition. People had brass snakes upon rods, it was an icon of the miracle God had performed.
But, as with all traditions, the meaning was lost over time, and they began to worship the snake on the stick. A prophet comes along, and says "that brass thing" which greatly offended everyone. Their precious tradition was not a "brass thing."
They had substituted it for God. But, the brass thing could not heal them, nor help them in any way.
I have seen many examples in my lifetime if traditions replacing God, usually in a single generation of a ministry. Our traditions making void the Word of God is not an exaggeration.

@gabriel can we please stop setting ourselves on fire?

@MK2boogaloo
> nomism
> noun
> Strict adherence to law, especially in the nomistic religions, that is, religions which possess codes for the regulation of the cult and of life.
Strangely enough, this definition seems to be just fine.
If I were to expound on it, nomianism is to serve an impersonal and rigid ideal.
Throughout all of known history, men have always preferred to serve something dead, rather than a living God.
-
This is also the true root for charges of anti-nomianism (literally against the law). Calling out anti-nomianism is literally to make a defense of the Law. It is first important to realize, that only Legalistic Christians can even bring this charge.
Exhorting a man to please God, to bear spiritual fruit, and to not displease God. Is just this iterations nomenclature of the Law of God. And, that nomenclature will change, it always does, the church has forever abused language to impose Legalism, while evading the charge of Legalism.
To tie this to the quoted post. The impersonal ideals that a pastor interprets to control a congregation... that is literally the Pharisee paradigm of the law. Their charge against the Gospel of anti-nomianism, is 100% accurate. They correctly identify that the chains of bondage, that they use to control men, that the Gospel would destroy these chains.
Ministers of Legalism, literally have a conflict of interest, that causes them to fight bitterly against the only true Gospel.
It is for this reason, that YOU cannot have the Gospel and Legalism at the same time. They are mutually exclusive, they are diametrically opposed to each other.
For those who teach the law, will be judged by the law. And, in failing to keep any part of the law, where ever they have kept it, it will be then counted as failure. And those who are judged to have failed the law, look forward to nothing but the wrath of God.
Who can read Paul's warnings, and not yearn for the Freedom promised by the True Gospel? Only those who's heart is as dead as a stone or as hard as a bar of iron.

@MK2boogaloo
As best as I can tell, people have more experience with demons, because demons want to dominate the people.
And, as Ed and Lorain Warren's books illustrate, often people, even when they are faced with demons, will just try to handle it on their own.
At some level, there are rules being enforced on satan and the demons. I suspect, there are lots of angels watching the demons, making sure the rules are followed.
People without God can be easy targets. Especially if they are not taught the rules. (modern meditation and psychology, seem to teach the inverse of the rules xD)
-
@MK2boogaloo probably more accurate than we realize.
-
The ideal, "live a life pleasing to God." Is at its roots an appeal to pride.
Modern Christianity, initiates men, on a course away from God.
-
@branman65 @King_Noticer @SuperSnekFriend
I find that I am usually displeasing to my fellow Christians xD
Most think that the Gospel, is instructions for how to please God.
But, I think the Gospel, is the good news that God makes men pleasing and good in His sight.
It is a position that attacks pride, and the most surprising part is, that it only seems to filter about 90% of people, instead of 100% xD
A pattern I've experienced both IRL and online, is, people really like what I have to say at first, usually for a month or two. And, then slowly, they begin to realize the implications. And, instead of letting go of their pride, they hold it tightly and run away screaming xD

@MK2boogaloo that game, was legit the only reason I wanted VR. But, I could never bring myself to spend the money for 1 game xD
-
Good night good night, to all a good night.
This night, remember, that it was God, who held the world together long enough so you could be born. So, that you would have a chance to know Him.
The treasure is not in the quantity of souls saved, for the world continues to lose more to hell, than are gained in Heaven. Only satan cares about numbers, for he sees them as food.
No, instead God seeks the treasure out of the garbage dump. Perhaps it will be as little as a tenth of all the men who ever lived, or even a tenth of tenth.
But, if there had only been one person through history who reached out to God, Jesus would have still come and redeemed them. For he would have had more worth and value to God, than 10 billion who hated God.
-
@MK2boogaloo even before I knew it was popular, it always gave me the creeps, I've never been able to engage with it xD
-
@MK2boogaloo I really like this xD
-
@EdBoatConnoisseur @SuperSnekFriend
> mere $2000 USD
If she got away with only 2 grand being stolen, she is luckier than most xD
-
@EdBoatConnoisseur @SuperSnekFriend Well, look Ed, I don't want anyone's money. I'm just honestly telling people, what, Jesus has made very clear to me.
But, it really isn't any different from my normal message, that everyone needs Jesus to rescue them from themselves.
In about 527 days, the world is going to get switched to hard mode. And, just because someone is still here for hard mode, doesn't mean they have to go to hell or anything. Jesus will still be on His throne, and He will still want to talk to them, and I think He will come periodically and take people who reconnect with Him during the Tribulation.
That is to say, I don't even think every one that starts hardmode will be martyred for the good end.... On the other hand, I know a LOT of Christians that desperately want a chance to prove to Jesus that they are willing to be martyred for Him... and I think they will soon have that chance.
I'm honestly not even talking about the fullness of my understanding on this situation. I think that I could greatly improve someones life during the Tribulation. But, there is a cache 22, if they believe my advice on the matter, then they'll just find Jesus and then probably wont even see hardmode... so it wont benefit them... but if they don't believe me, then they wont even act on it xD
It all feels very strange.
-
@Frondeur @EdBoatConnoisseur @SuperSnekFriend Oh He didn't show up and speak to me. Though there is a lot of that going on right now.
No, for me it has just been a fire hose of information from various sources, that seems to mutually reinforce. I think I've been past the 50% mark for about 2 years. And, I'm around 90% sure on the date range now.
The 10%, is just me making sure I don't dismiss anything conflicting out of hand. But, conflicting information has not been forth coming xD
I thought I'd really stir up some doubt when I looked into past rapture prediction failures... But, every single one of them I've examined seemed to be based on almost nothing. Sometimes it was a law being pasted, sometimes it was a date calculated off of a single sentence from the Bible. I look at it, and have no idea why people bought into it at all. The dots the point to, don't even line up.
> the essene jubilee next year
Just celebrate it in Heaven, things wont be so different.
We are only still in this world, because there are a few things that can only be obtained here. But, when Jesus moves out of the way, so wont don't suffer pointlessly, our lives will continue on in Heaven.
-
@SuperSnekFriend Just... checks spreadsheet... 527 days to go.
Reality is like a tightly coiled spring, I just hope it stays uneventful until departure.
It has been surprising that no one on fedi can tell that Jesus will be returning soon.
When a discussion starts, I'll get a flurry of people popping in to warn me away, "Don't you know that people have been wrong about this before?!" or "Don't kill yourself bro!"
I am actually rather enjoying my life. If I had 10 more years, I am sure I could improve even the lives of my fedi friends :D The future is bright for me.
But, Jesus has been going out of His way to show me what will happen, and when it will happen. And, so I'm not really worried about it, I'm going to enjoy every day to the fullest, but I am past the point of being able to pretend that we aren't at the end of an era.
-
@EdBoatConnoisseur @SuperSnekFriend I've heard much the same for being against the vaxxine. But, these emotional arguments wont make me budge on either xD
-
@SpurgAnon From what I've seen posted, it wasn't great.
-
@MK2boogaloo I really want that one with all the hard drives tbh xD
I Guess that is like a SATA hat? I'll need to look into this xD
