@WashedOutGundamPilot accord's my daily driver so yeah it's a big factor for me. weekend car is fine for timing belt because i put much less miles on it. could be well over a decade before i have to deal with it. but my daily commuter? im not playing those games. -

i dont buy new cars cuz i gotta wait until the manufacturer puts out a last model year of their generation and gives it a timing chain. everyone goes back and forth between timing chains and belts for about 20 years and then ya wanna get that sweet spot of it being the last model year before they refresh and change everything again. its a big reason why ive stuck with my 2007 accord for so long. timing chain. last model year of the seventh generation. and guess what the eighth generation got? timing belts. of course now honda is back to timing chains again but the 07 accord is still kicking so im keeping it. you can bury me in it! -

i was in new york city in 2001 before 9/11 and my apartment was in the shadow of the twin towers. i had a plant sitting on the windowsill facing the towers. I'd hoped it would survive, despite the lack of sunlight. it never did, started to shrivel up and was close to death. i accepted its fate and put it on another end of the apartment where it could get sunlight. told my jewish friend about this and he said "put it back the morning of september 11th. it will get sunlight and prosper." i doubted him but he gave some solid financial advice before so i did as instructed. surely enough the twin towers fell that morning and my plant got all the sunlight it needed. i still wonder how my friend knew so much about plants. -

i was thinking about medicare and this lady who i didnt know if she had a job in her life but she was getting medicare. i said well she must have had a job at some point to pay taxes to get medicare. but then i said wait again! WAIT! this country is evil! alfonzo sanchez who just crossed the border 5 minutes ago gets medicare. and a drivers license. and that spic never worked a day in his life! how foolish of me to think america would have a fair system that benefits people who follow the rules! how could i possibly forget that this country is run by literal demon worshippers who hate their own people!
