People who "can't do it" do exist, but it's a skill issue. They are bad salesmen and can't convince someone to pay a hundred bucks for a job that costs the person doing the work $105.

Yep. It takes persistence and knowing that you'll get turned down more than not. My company only gets a few percent of the jobs they quote.

It's up to each person whether they have the drive to keep pushing through or to be employed. Right now I wouldn't be able to afford more than a 3 month dry spell, so any side business efforts would have to be part-time outside my current job.
