@YourAverageNewfag @TornadoOfTerror @admin @amerika @bigmattoidchimpin @WashedOutGundamPilot Honestly, I have it modeled as something like the fall of Rome, where the various foreign transplants simply left. End the welfare state and there's nothing for them here except a bunch of angry White guys with AR-15s. Worth noting that, even with state backing, the BLM rioters didn't push into the suburbs because they were met with exactly that.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot @admin @amerika @bigmattoidchimpin The counterargument is that things have been getting measurably worse very rapidly, and we're starting to hit a point where there's no more inertia left to burn. It's not as if we're watching the Roman Empire collapse over the course of centuries - the Pax Americana is no older than Taylor Swift, and it's already on its last legs, with a decisive loss in the Ukraine and a deteriorating Middle East situation that it doesn't look like we have the diplomatic competence to navigate.
Things do happen - WWII was apocalyptic for Europe, and that's not too far in the past. Still in living memory, if only barely. The Cold War followed it up, and we're less than 30 years out from that coming to an end. Lots of people envisioned the USSR as lasting forever too, but the kind of people who ran it, and who run the U.S. now, are not built for making long-horizon decisions.

@WashedOutGundamPilot @Remi Reddit is a graveyard of girls who ended up with the worst guy possible. There's a whole horrible rabbit hole of stories (some fake, some real) where the guy talks his gf into some life-ruining thing or another. A while back, /pol/'s tranny hate thread discovered r/mypartneristrans, where women commiserated about their transgender 'partners' thwacking them with dilators and becoming increasingly distant as all of their energy is channeled into jacking off to increasingly depraved internet porn.
I think guys like that do somewhat better than average. A guy who's driven - even if that drive is to fulfill a fucked up internet fetish - has more appeal than a guy who isn't.
-
@ArdainianRight @ChristiJunior Not entirely true - the donations and media support don't actually win elections. 2016 is the intuitive example, but there have been studies - donor money isn't really a factor past the point where you prove you're a serious candidate and not just some random boomer running because he watched Mr. Smith goes to Washington the other night with the grandkids.
The actual mechanisms could be debated for a graduate thesis and several novels, but there are much more active measures at play here - every existing institution is captured, and they'll all work to get rid of anyone who isn't Greenblatt-approved. Trump largely got through the 2016 elections because they were telling each other there was no way he could win.

One of the most fucked up realizations I've had is that it's been about a decade since the censoring of the public internet, and there's now an entire generation of people who never knew what actual freedom of speech looked like. Like, you could go around, and find a group of people who thought like you, all across the country, consisting of hundreds of thousands of people, and now it's just implicitly understood everywhere that about three quarters of the Overton Window are now verboten everywhere normal people go, and everywhere else will be spammed with federal agents and actual retards to prevent any kind of community spirit from emerging. The idea that Youtube was once a haven for every kind of OC imaginable, and comments sections were pictures of the collective unconscious (however boorish) is now lost to a lot of people. Even on things that aren't political, the idea that anything can be banned from everywhere at any time has had a chilling effect - even with anonymity being considered less vital nowadays, I see fewer people speaking from the heart, and more and more detachment.
When all is said and done, I hope there's some kind of documentary on the censorship of the internet, what that process looked like, and what it was beforehand. I do have faith that it'll come back when the resources to sustain this kind of censorship can no longer be brought to bear.

@WashedOutGundamPilot me hoarding every model that can say the nigger word from the second it gets released on HuggingFace so long as I can download it before the jannies remove
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot @suquili @TeaTootler Yeah, a lot of guys don't see the gamble, there. Picking a guy to give her youth to is the decision that decides how life ends up, and there's at least the perception of an endless horde of predators out there who will cheat or abandon her after she gives them something she can't get back. Easy for the good girls out there to just opt out of the whole thing and stay home, and hope something changes.

Something worth noting is how utterly unpopular the hippies were.
It's literally just that one two percent of the population pushing things from the top - they've never been popular, except maybe a brief window around 2008.

@WashedOutGundamPilot @Paulajak @Paleloon @AngryWraith @LivingSpaceStudios @RehnSturm256 mfw I smuggle an M4 into every foreign country I travel to so that racist foreigners can feel safe knowing that I am here
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot @D-Droid I remember the first few months after mass censorship kicked in, where all of those astroturfed leftie streamers popped up. They weren't allowed to mention any actual righties (who had abruptly been banned from everywhere), so they collectively pretended that a bunch of young zoomers had become "alt-right radicals" at the behest of Ben Shapiro.
-
@Hoss Certain women get really really mad when a qt reminds men collectively that there are options besides "heavily-used fat woman with undisguised hatred for her bf".
-
@CenturianFrend @WashedOutGundamPilot @leespringfield1903 Careful what you wish for. They are arguably the only competent people left in most industries. For at least a full generation we've been taking the handful of White guys who don't drop out of society altogether and shunting them into CS/AI. You are looking at Fogbank across every single other industry.
They are also the last bastion of sanity in politics - pretty much every other voting bloc besides young White males and their wives is full on Hotel Rwanda levels of genocidal hostility. If you are not ready for a few years of them trying to make South Africa happen here (you will not automatically get good at defending yourself with a rifle, and you will not automatically get a squad of guys to defend your area with - that needs to be prepared ahead of time), you're gonna want those Boomers to hang on.
-
@leespringfield1903 @WashedOutGundamPilot From the context of those quotes, it's less "Iran is very important to me", and more "ah, fuck, another few minutes closer to doomsday".
I don't know that anything is going to happen, probably the U.S. will print a few billion more dollars to bribe the Arab world not to retaliate against Israel (for the umpteenth time), and eventually Netanyahu will get replaced by someone with identical policies and the conflict will fall out of the news cycle.
-
@ArdainianRight There are things you can do without mentioning the thing you're not allowed to mention, but the issue is that the tiny hat tribe do not want you to do those things either, so you'll still be allowed, but not boosted. Most people who want to do good are also honest, and don't like the idea of hiding their power level.
I still remember that Matt Walsh, Ben Shapiro's favorite proxy, made his grand entrance by defending the armed raubery guy.
-
@ArdainianRight I've seen Ukraine ones, but apparently it didn't get across the threshold to become canon.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot There's a reason a certain forum was called "the last bastion of romance".
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot Like anything that originates in a certain kind of way, crypto attracted hangers-on and random normies who are enthusiastic but don't really understand it, or have their own purposes. I don't really mind it, it's extra noise in the system that makes it harder to kill, and the major change from their presence and excitement is that /ourguys/ who were autistic enough to mine some back in 2010 now have some money that nobody knows about.
In the end, it's a useful hedge against inflation (there are worse currency backings than the love of skilled codefags and engineers), and you can use it to buy things anonymously and fund things that've been debanked in the meantime.
-
@LittleTom It is worth noting that there is an entire community of Chinese incels that blame White guys for their inability to get laid and dedicate 24 hours each day to writing fanfiction on this precise topic to try to get back at the guys who cucked them.
Not saying it doesn't also actually happen, but I'm not joking about that first sentence.
-
@wgiwf @WashedOutGundamPilot Disagree. America was founded by guys who crossed an ocean on faith alone and endured a very real risk of death as well. Conflating the real America that earlier generations remember with ZOG is a failure of language.
Besides that, God and Country is pretty universal - every healthy country had some degree of conflation between religious and national identity and obligation.
-
@SAKURARadiochan @wgiwf @WashedOutGundamPilot > Papism
I mean, anyone can dig up enough to throw a sectarian shitfit over anyone, but coming up with reasons to denounce a bunch of tight-knit White guys who overthrew a hostile regime through loyalty and ingenuity right now is stupid for obvious reasons. Anything with any chance of winning is going to be something that resonates with normal Amerikaners - they don't want weird theological divides just like they don't want fat guys in black T-shirts larping as stormtroopers, or middle-aged mischlings on Substack larping as candidates for éminence grise status in a future regime.
At the end of the day, whatever works for us is going to involve celebrating our national mythos - Americans are who we are, and healthy, well-adjusted people (the only people capable of ever building anything useful) aren't going to break from their heritage and curse their ancestors.
As a probably unwise aside, I'll also point out that papism didn't work out so well.
