Already wrote up Kubinashi Recollection (again), and I know what game I'm going to write about next. However, I would like others to share their views too. I don't play every game/genre nor am I always the best person to write about a game. Plus I really like seeing other's passions for something, or hell even just seeing what they think. It can be a lot of fun.
@Meemoo Yep. I went to take a look myself and seeing the line "you need to hex edit your save file to bypass this softlock" told me all I need to know about the current state, but I'm likely to check back at some point in the future. If nothing else, they're dedicated.
@Meemoo Ah, of course the industry plant would "leak" the method. :flan_tired: It's sad denuvo is still even around, but god knows the corporate suits certainly would never give up a boost in sales by 5, even if it loses 2000 other sales, all to make sure it's only available to paid customers. Hope the wild people around the net find ways to completely transform the demo into a fully functional state, it'd be great to see.
@Meemoo :thonk: That is a wild way to crack a game. Even if I don't end up downloading or bothering with this game, I'm now increasingly curious about this crack, seems like it'll be super amusing.
@DrRyanSkelton@Meemoo@Xeraser@ninja8tyu To give an example of DLSS' ideal vs it's reality, I'll use a basic example of a non-unreal engine 5 game I've played recently where it was mandatory for stable running. Stranger of Paradise FFO runs like shit even trying to run at 1080p, it's bad. DLSS attempts to fix this by running at around 50? 75? somewhere in that range percentage of the resolution. It doesn't, because what used to be taken up to render natively is now taken up rendering natively at the lower resolution and applying DLSS. I have had to run it at 25% render resolution through modifications to the DLL for the DLSS rendering to mostly have a stable 1080p 60fps, and at that point visual issues can become bad. It also still sometimes dips below 60 but I blame the particle effects and hair/fur for that, that shit's so unoptimized you'd think it was made for a CG movie rather than an action game. Now, this is koei tecmo, they're the kings of bad PC optimization. Yet this is becoming an increasingly common method of dealing with your game's issues. Throw DLSS on it and leave the players to fix the issues from there (which you can't if there's anti-cheat because then programs like SpecialK dedicated to fixing developer incompetence can't hook). It's why so much hate is generated for this tech, it can look much worse and often be just as unoptimized as the native running, but everyone from game engine creators, to the GPU companies, to the game devs are all treating it like it fixes every problem and optimization is a thing of the past.
@DrRyanSkelton@Meemoo@Xeraser@ninja8tyu Bad? Kind of a subjective matter. The way it's being used though is atrocious. DLSS/FSR/XeSS in theory should be a way for lower end hardware to push slightly higher resolutions than it normally could through usage of AI and some specialized hardware and systems. In reality, devs just stop giving a shit and optimize the entire game for whatever the newest XX90 card is out at the time and then everyone else is forced to rely on DLSS to have anything work. Pretty much a problem of it no longer being optional, but the tech in itself is actually slightly intensive on the system and looks worse than native rendering, can often leave ghosting and many other artifacts. Again, would be fine if it were only used to push weaker hardware to its limit. Also there's frame generation which is a literal joke technology that I refuse to believe people actually trust, it makes fake frames through AI interpolation. Sure it technically works, but the game doesn't have any of the benefit of the added frames, so you're still playing an unresponsive 10 fps mess with the added bonus of pretending it's 60fps.
@Meemoo@ninja8tyu@Xeraser Agreed. I have seen so far exactly 2 Unreal Engine 5 games that run well. The first being Fortnite, which took them a full year or two to actually get running well and during that time it would frequently have issues and run almost as shit as any other UE5 game (and form what I understand it still needs either DLSS or FSR to run in the now somewhat decent form). The second is Dragon Ball Sparking Zero which is almost hard to believe is running in UE5 with how good it looks and runs while being able to maintain 1080p 60fps on moderate hardware, no DLSS needed.
@DarkMahesvara Well, if it's to avoid her. While most believe she's spotted at the youkai mountain mostly, that's not quite right, the only ones who actively keep lookout on the mountain are the wolf tengu, but I dread those who meet the wolves similarly never reappear. The bird rather prides herself in her speed and her journalistic knowledge, so she'll be all around the place looking for interesting people. Just keep your head low to avoid being seeming interesting and you should avoid becoming tengu breeding fodder. Strangely enough she also seems to appear quite often at the Hakurei Shrine, so it's possibly a dangerous place when the shrine maiden isn't around.
@DarkMahesvara Do not fall for the tengu's tricks. She will lock you away in her home on the mountain to never be seen by human civilization again. All the while treating you as a house husband mostly to have sex.
@Immahnoob Completely fair, I just think most of these eroge have bad game design. The failure state things is something I can understand, but at that point give me a different type of game if you want me to lose. Bust my balls with a full on rougelike or something. Give me an incentive to lose because of skill or experimentation rather than waiting out the battle intentionally so I can see 4 PNGs and hear moan.mp3 play. Alternatively just make the game gimmicky if the main female is supposed to be humiliated, give me some gameplay reason she's bad that I slowly work through and learn to adapt around. This is all an extremely worthless train of thought though, all it reveals is I'm not really the kind of person these games are aimed at. Applying normal design logic to porn is an extremely flawed view of the world, but it's my view and I want that logical porn design. :flan_yea:

DunkagAny eroge/h-game where the sexual contents are a reward for failure or choosing the worst options is a bad game. For the entire rest of the experience I am being taught how to play and win using the mechanics at hand, but the game then wants me to throw so I can whip my dick out mid play session? It's entirely contradictory and makes the experience and gameplay worthless. I will instead always choose to play games like this as best as I possibly can. Who cares if I miss some sex scenes, I'm not losing at a jank hentai game. :cirno_dwi:
@Minty Ideas like this are why I want another Xenoverse. Let Xenoverse 2 die already, give us a new one with more races and more dumb stuff to do with said races. Let the namekians have fun with orange and a less sucky become giant. :cirno_no: Give me my super gimmicky android race goddammit.
@Minty It's still quite funny to me that at the very start of xenoverse 2, frieza race actually got favoritism on transformation, even if they only got one, it was fucking busted. Then Saiyans got all their missing transformations outside of SSJ4 and destroyed what was left of that. I'll still play majin though, the majin girls are so damn cute, even if I hate the majin transformation, taking my moveset away from me to make me a gimped kid buu isn't fun.
