It looks so silly.

I did some testing by using cheats to set my character's unarmored to 59, and light armor to 27 (the stats the leveled/scaled assassins have), and here are the results.

11 armor rating in full dark brotherhood armor.

22 without.

I was worried my intuition had been incorrect, and a mod was at fault.. but nope!
