We have gone down this slippery slope before however.

I favor civility as well, but "do not remind people that they are mortal" rapidly becomes "do not talk about death" and at that point, we are in the censorship cycle.

The best way to have civility is to have users who ignore ("mute") anyone uncivil but engage with any civil statements.

WW1/2 were wars for democracy.

Most of the people involved were not Jewish.

However, they were fighting a war for freedom/democracy against authoritarian societies.

They allied with Communists because Communism is a similar egalitarian philosophy to the post-FDR mixed economy of the USA.

I think it can be simplified further: Communists are classic con men.

Their pitch starts with "things are not as they seem," and goes on to pitch to the mark what he wants to believe is true, like religion without the need for consistent thought.

Every society develops second-stage parasites like this. The best societies remove them (exile, IMHO).

"Palestine" is the ethnic home of the Jews and by all sensible metrics should belong to them.

The diaspora has resulted in many pogroms, so the answer is as Herzl observed, to return all Jews to Israel.

To that end, the Palestinians need to be repatriated to Egypt, Syria, and Jordan.

Israel is the land for only Jews and all Jews.

Down that path, we have no Holocausts and no resentments.

The Holocaust happened.

Jews died in concentration camps and partisan executions.

I see the Holocausts of history as the inevitable result of diversity.

The lampshades story keeps floating around, like the execution ponds, but most reputable historians always avoided it.

My guess:

1. Talmud includes Old Testament, both are true

2. Tradition, science has no meaning here, and Jewish tradition is less supernatural than Christianity

3. It was a subset of his people who manipulated the law, Pharisees, sort of like the deep state

Jews, Christians, Muslims, and Zoroastrians share essentially the same faith.

Most of Christianity is lifted from Plato to make sense of it however.

The sad reality is that very few Republican and Democratic officials or candidates agree on the state of the country or what the actual problems are that we face. More importantly, they do not have shared goals for what our community or nation ought to be.
