@xianc78 Discord requires an account to even lurk their archived posts. At least I can easily lurk enough old Reddit forum posts anonymously without signing up, even though too many search engine results keep showing them.
@coolboymew How do you eat a sandwich without one of those weiners falling out?
Berkeley Berkman (berkberkman@bae.st)'s status on Tuesday, 07-Nov-2023 23:26:53 JST
Berkeley BerkmanI have a unpatched Nintendo Switch, and I was given the physical tools used (like their jig) made by Team Xecuter (SX OS). I had some hiccups migrating to Atmosphere (plus updating the firmware without connecting to the Internet), but it's worth the effort. I got a ""legal"" copy of Metroid Prime Remastered working, and the Awoo Launcher mostly works (someone really loves Momiji) if you allow unsigned NSP/XCI files to be installed. Now I need to get Xenoblade Chronicles DE and Tears of the Kingdom running. I might've forgotten a step, or some of the NSP/XCI files just don't work on the Switch itself. @Moon@lain@animeirl@coolboymew@ooignignoktoo >berne convention >doujinshi Imagine a bunch of clueless geezers attempting to determine the copyright infringement of a hentai parody...
@Moon@lain@animeirl@coolboymew@ooignignoktoo Doujinshi circles also have a greater appeal, even if you leave aside the hentai scene. They've gotten a local market for it for decades called COMIKET. Meanwhile, the closest that you have that's independent in the US are the underground comix scenes, and even then, a lot of them are just as "woke" or worse. Distribution and discussion online (especially for webcomics) is likely the only way indie comics get attention now. 47162.jpg 1315-1-regular-1.jpg
@coolboymew I've seen a lot of clips of that show. I haven't seen an official English release of the entire series beside some DVD releases. Live Japanese TV releases overseas are bizarre sometimes, but at least I can find it via the Archive: https://archive.org/details/GCCXS1
@ElDeadKennedy@coolboymew@olmitch@ooignignoktoo@Christmas_Man I still have that Silverstone GD09B from a relative that wanted to build a computer (he ended up just giving up and bought a Mac Miniz then bought a prebuilt much later). The horizontal layout inside and out is too weird for most people, so I couldn't find anybody that wanted to buy it. I eventually ended up keeping it and made it into another separate PC for strictly tinkering and running only Linux. I wouldn't recommend the case to anyone, though, unless you have space for it. gd09b.jpg
@coolboymew@ElDeadKennedy@ooignignoktoo So far, the Corsair 200R, the Fractal Design Define R5, and the Be Quiet Pure Base 600 BG021 seem like alright old cases if you can find them. They still have options for a DVD drive.
@coolboymew@ElDeadKennedy@ooignignoktoo Cases used to be easy to buy (especially with rebates). I still have a plain Corsair 270R from 2017. It's the only part of my computer that I've kept for years while I upgraded a lot of parts. Nowadays, the decent ones are still becoming expensive, even after 2020, and the worst part is that because of shipping, it's not easy to buy (or sell) a good old used one. corsair_270r.jpg
@sjw@matrix I can't seem to find a single project or even an independent company that's attempting to reduce all of the hassles of 2D printing. Is competition impossible?
I was gonna buy the Analogue Pocket (assuming it's available), but I ended up getting the RGB30 for the price alone: $86 total. Less than half of what a Pocket normally costs. The square 720p screen is the RGB30's gimmick, but with some tweaking (that I haven't done yet), almost any game can look great. The form factor also looks comfortable to hold compared to the old vertical layout of the Pocket. I will be missing out on the FPGA hardware, but at least I don't need to be too careful with my RGB30 since I can easily buy another one with quick shipping.
I briefly played Shantae on it to see how well it looks, and it's cool. I have trouble with getting RetroArch adjusted to make it look better, though. I also have a lot more to write about it since I still need to play with other emulators, tweaks, and ROMs. A navy blue Powkiddy RGB30 handheld that is turned off.
