The premise of Calvinism is free will is fake and some Christians still insist free will exists and God gave it to everyone.
It’s pretty airtight. If you accept an all powerful God it’s impossible to disprove. How God washes his hands of sin is also impossible to prove.

@SuperSnekFriend I just can’t wrap my mind around free will. Omniscience PLUS omnipotence to me gives the universe a kind of 3D shape, where our decisions are baked into the cake, and God can view the whole thing as an object. That’s an uncharitable view, but I can’t square having free will with God knowing everything I’m going to do. Even accepting or rejecting Christ, he knew before I was born what would happen.
There’s no human dignity without free will, we do become objects without it, but also, it seems impossible to fit in without chipping at God’s omniscience or omnipotence, which is ultimately the argument Nugger has made and Bowsac’s has made. So it seems like I’m not the only one.
I don’t really know. It’s a tough question.

@AnFashSchizo blow it out your ass all the best arguments were made years ago now it’s a social thing that acts as a shibboleth for right wingers so they can moralize against their opponents. People haven’t really believed in Christianity for years and the arguments have gotten worse. It’s just a group thing at this point but trying to justify it on the grounds of truth is annoying. Especially when it leads to cognitive dissonance.
No one is making theological arguments at this point or having serious discussion, it’s an “are you ingroup/outgroup” thing and that ironically sucks all the discussion that could be had out of it, because saying, “I don’t believe it,” is grounds for banishment, not discussion.

Only very recently did the LGBT thing happen, that hasn’t happened until this year. They’re the third largest economy in the world and incredibly wealthy with good social programs, and a higher birth rate than all their neighbors. On an island chain with 127 million people.
It’s hard to find a better country anywhere in the world. They lost the war and that’s probably the only bad thing they’ve done. It’s not perfect, they lost and they have suffered for that, but they’ve done amazingly despite that.
Germany is buck broken and won’t keep its prosperity much longer, and is already losing its demographics.

@Remi @CatLord @VIcFury they kept everything from their emperor to religion to way of life. Their people and culture, and have continued to innovate to this day. I don’t know what culture you think they’re losing, but they don’t have culture pushed on them from the outside they project culture to other countries.
If your issue is change itself that’s a skill issue.

Japan preserved its culture while China was rocked by invasions, collapse, and revolution. No other culture has done better than Japan.

@nugger Evil is when pedophiles rape kids and the most evil being in history preys on the most innocent humans to have ever lived. For that matter, sin isn't solely an action. From when evil comes no one knows but we know it can't come from free will because perfect alignment with the Lord's will and free will can exist in the same action forever.
There is no explanation for how evil came into the universe.
