Provided you live in an area where it gets hot enough you can make an evaporation still if you have tarp and 550 cord. If you have electrical backup plans like a solar array or an LP invertor you can can just get a countertop distiller. If you are planning on using solid fuel you should talk to @nugger as that is one of his personal autism triggers and I have seen him posting about them quite frequently.

If you have a downspout in your backyard or something away from immediate view you can install a diverter mid spout and have it funnel off to storage tank in a discreet location.

I have the well. If the well fails either to my solar battery bank dying or mechnical failure I have the creek. If the creek is no good because of pollution of other contamination I have 165 days of water to hold me over until until the fall or spring rainy season begins and I can collect more.

The entire time I was over there I wished I was back home. Once I came home I started to wish I was back over there. It isn't about wanting to be in the military, I hate what the military has become and who it serves. It is about how the country I came home to was not the one I left, and how at least when I was over there, there was some semblance of rules, order, and comradery. The America of 2023 is so different than the America of 2000 that if you showed someone from 2000 the 2023 news cycle without two decades of being a frog in the pot they would go mad from despair.

You know what is sad? There is no one left in the industry capable of animating an Itano Circus. Itano himself has retired from animating and was, as far as I can tell, the last person to animate a Circus. Anno, one of Itano's students, had to call in Itano to animate a Circus for one of the rebuild movies over a decade ago, and that was the last time anyone animated a Circus.

For me, it was the culture shock of viewing things through the mindset of a Japanese person which was strange and fascinating that initially drew me in. Now, all these years later, I stick around because everything produced domestically is dogshit and disgusting.
