    Well I assume since the cards are activated at the register when you pay, the cops could always just ask the video surveillance of the conbini at this specific time and have you at five different angles. Not enough to identify you but I believe they could work with it if they really wanted to for some reason.
    But there's no real reason for them to go that far I think.

    Alright, I might go take a look at what's available at my nearest conbini and list them for sale on Monero marketplaces. The only worry I have is if the cards are used for anything illegal it might be linked back to me, or if I get big orders I might trigger some anti-money laundering or anti-fraud flags, but I doubt I'd even get more than a few orders in the first place anyway.

    @japananon Hey I was thinking about that prepaid/gift card discussion, do you know the legality of buying cards in a random conbini and reselling them to a third party?
    I wouldn't mind doing it especially for Monero, but I don't know if buying Amazon/Rakuten/DMM cards requires any kind of KYC in some situation, and I don't know if it could trigger some flag if I go over a certain amount, etc.

    Last time I looked, all that's available locally in Japan on darknet markets is cannabis and psilocybin mushrooms and ordering stuff internationally is too risky, so DNMs never became popular for druggies here. They prefer to use legal prescription meds and not-illegal analogues, like THC variants or 3-MMC as a replacement for MDMA when it wasn't yet in the books, etc.

    It doesn't end well. The divorce rate is through the roof, and more often than not the wife will steal your children, file a restraining order and disappear since it's allowed under Japanese law.

    And especially don't do it if you're what is called in expat circles a LBH (Loser Back Home). If you are a social loser that can't get a proper girl in your country don't expect anything to be different just because you're White in Asia. There are already so many of us here, you're not exotic anymore and won't be seen as a trophy husband.

    @rainignterror1080p @Moto_Chagatai It's just that "The Program®" birthed by retarded government bureaucrats determined that a 2B is reliable and good for children to learn how to write, and does not cause individuality and envy from other classmates so everyone has to use one. And the teachers as usual followed the letter of the law and not the spirit of it.

    During my entire childhood I was forced to use a fountain pen because the government said so, even though it's suboptimal. Have I used it once ever since growing up? Of course not.

    Nowadays the government allows schools to have their own rules to some extent, so now we have many schools that allow boys to wear the girl uniform with a skirt because ジェンダーダイバーシティ.

    Maybe we should go back to the 2B pencil days and be stupid-rigid.

    I would've thought Russia wanted to keep things cool until Trump comes and starts peace talks.

    I only used it to send myself test tips but it worked fine.
    There were a few small friction points that could make the laziest people give up along the way:
    - having to send 15 cents (0.001xmr) to prevent spam registration
    - having to give your master address (starting with 4), so that means creating a new wallet for OpSec reasons
    - giving your private view key (I don't know why the public view key is not enough)

    Other than that, once you have spent five minutes setting things up, it's seamless. One donation page for users, one received donations page for the owner.
