@ChristiJunior@Pikika@poopernova Maybe, but if this wasn't Alec Baldwin and some rando on trial this would have been the most corrupt display of law enforcement I've seen on TV.
The prosecution called herself onto the stand to testify why this wasn't an issue. Utter clown show. :back_from_gab:
@ninja8tyu@ehhh@poopernova >depends on if filian genuinely went and say "yeah i own the model" or something, or if GSC came up to filian with the presumption and made a business deal there Yesterday to prove a point I had done research to find If the original artist was ever mentioned in relation to Filian. There is one, the gamersupps merch page.
I don't know when this credit happened, but let's say it happened at the start of merch sales. It's pretty damming. If the original artist never had a deal with Filian then this means this gamersupps merch had commissioned an artist to do the artwork. So a situation occured where the original artist never got paid for their work but another artist was paid to copy their work. Very fucked up situation. :back_to_gab: Screenshot_20240705-065727-426.png
@poopernova@ehhh@ninja8tyu GSC is also partially at fault. For some reason they didn't notice the original artist as well when I'm sure designs get at least credited for the product even if they don't control the IP themselves.
The entire situation is ironic though.
-Trannies hate Filian for making a George Floyd joke. -Floyd was a typical nigger who was in constant trouble with the law and niggers defend him because "white boy bad". -Artist then puts their knee on Filians neck for showing fake IP rights. -Then the internet niggers come to Filians defense saying she dindu nuffin wrong and are defending her because "tranny boy bad".
Taking this into consideration the assumptions either are 1: Jingo was contacted and had knowledge of merch being produced 2: Jingo had no knowledge and merch companies ignored rights ownership
Companies DID know and had knowledge of the original model maker. So someone is making a sneaky play here. :back_from_the_cia: Screenshot_20240705-065727-426.png
I'm not quite sure why the author never made an attempt to wrangle in copyright, it would be kinda strange they didn't know about the uses until now. However it could have been a foreign copyright issue and not worth dealing with. But with a Japanese company involved now it probably is worth dealing with.
I wonder WTF mythic is doing, because as the largest indie vtuber the question of "does she own the rights to her model" should have been the first thing dealt with as someone arranged these merch deals. I highly doubt Filian did all these deals herself.
The people in this screenshot don't know this, but this isn't the first time this comparison of water deity = space deity has been made in Japanese media.
People who know touhou should know when they built their rocket to the moon Reimu calls on the Sumiyoshi gods so that the space "ship" makes it to the moon safely.
---- To power the rocket, after previously being told to learn to how to harness the myriad gods by Yukari Yakumo, and with a tip from Youmu Konpaku and Yuyuko Saigyouji, Reimu calls on the God of Voyages, Sumiyoshi, to act as the rocket's three stages. Additionally, the three stages were named Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka, after the three stars in Orion's Belt, on a suggestion by Marisa and Eirin Yagokoro. Eirin also secretly affixes a piece of the Lunar Veil to the cone of the rocket, ensuring its journey to the Moon. ----
---- The tsutsu part of the names of the three gods has a connection to the planets, and there is a theory that suggests the Sumiyoshi sanjin are the deification of the three main stars in the Orion constellation. In the olden days the Orion constellation was used for navigational purposes so it was perhaps for this reason that they were deified. Also, the locations of Tsutsu on Tsushima Island, Tsutsuki on Iki Island, and Tsutsuki in Itoshima, Fukuoka prefecture are in the arrangement of these three Orion stars. ----
