It kind of boggles my mind how quantum safe encryption is even a thing that can be achieved, especially without the use of quantum computing itself.

Does anyone know a good basic primer for someone who understands standard encryption (just) but isn't any kind of computer scientist / theoretical mathematician etc?

There used to be one called #Tilt, but development stalled years ago.

There's a #crowdfunding plugin for #Wordpress called wp-crowdfunding. Don't know if it's #FOSS, although it seems you need to shell out $ to offer more than one reward and it only seems to offer #Paypal for payments. I'd love to see other options (#Monero?).

Given I heard WP now federates on the fedi, I imagine this kind of would, too, although I'd love to see something more native Fedi with AP updates etc.

I really don't get why it's not possible to put people you don't follow in a list, and have the list get their updated posts, but just automatically remove them from all your lists if they block you...

@fsf Also worth noting is that you can follow the #FSF channel (or any other #Peertube channel) in #Mastadon / #Pleroma / #Misskey etc, to see new videos in your timeline and like and comment on them. 💕

@hrefna Implementing the how the most desired #ActivityPub features function (technically and in the #UX) before #GAFAM decides for us, will protect us more than the whole #Faceblock debate, regardless whether our instances decide to #DefederateMeta or not.

Just imagine if it's possible to easily move posts from Mastodon.social to Facebook, but not the reverse? Or if people deciding what instance to use are told they can only use #Meta to have their messages be secure and *cough* private? 🤢 🤮

The other part that is neglected, is making it as easy as possible for *everyone* to run their own node.

The tech for people to run their own webserver, and share it with others has been around for decades. Why doesn't everyone do it? Because Facebook et al make it much easier to create an account and use them instead.

There's still a long way to go, but this is why projects like @yunohost are so important. They make it easier to run your own everything.

The whole "ad lobby doesn't have a powerful message" thing is hilarious. As someone who used to work in marketing, I'd like to point out that coming up with powerful messages is literally their job. That they're being beaten, at their own game, by underfunded, amateur idealists, is beautiful.
