@lain @j @sun Theoretically a copyright law reform could do or undo the same -

@lain @j @sun This can only be settled in a court -

@sun @j I'm pretty sure there were boatloads of people in 2008-2010 being sued for copyright infringement because they were caught seeding.
Oh yeah, I forgot they probably couldn't have as many lawyers as meta though :aaaaaa: -

@xianc78 @sun It needs implementation server-side, thus the bank or whatever platform they offload banking services to has to implement it.
Not gonna happen because it stores the seller's data (To prevent tax evasion or fraud), but does not store the buyer's data, ensuring buyer anonymity, which is not necessary to keep for sale tax purposes. -

@xianc78 @coolboymew Those space galleons could be made a bit more steampunkish/dieselpunkish to better suggest the appearance of magic-infused machinery.
Check Airships: Kingdoms Adrift for some inspirational ship designs
Basically, magic elements should be inserted into primitive machinery, which justifies wizard species not developing more advanced designs, since their magic allows basic machines to already deliver performance close to that of more advanced species -

@xianc78 In fact, you should first detail what magic is, and how it works in your universe. This will allow you to understand its capabilities and limitations.
First design the magic, and the maximum technological level "allowed", then work around those and how they could interact.
A techno-magic (Magic akin to a fantastic principle of physics, with its rules), instead of magic as is anything is possible at the writer's discretion -

@xianc78 I was unaware of those GPT4All. Thanks for the info -

@xianc78 You probably meant "with no hardcoded limits", because whatever data you're using to train the AI with, will still produce bias to a degree -

@wowaname @xianc78 Or it would have taken months to get the contract going, and in the meantime they would have been in the wrong, legally-wise.
Probably they just threw the towel
Also, those 100s of PCs are bought in batches with discounts
Edit: Also google anti-spam practices requiring DKIM and things like that -

@xianc78 They begun pushing for schools being full-digital back in the late 2000s (Financial crisis going and all that).
It probably was a gift to keep those corporations afloat, since it was easy to guess schools would be forced to rely on their services most of the time (Alas, transfer public money to them)
Email in particular, even if they had the infrastructure, it probably wouldn't work because of all those antispam safeguards google is enforcing -

@xianc78 Outise the US, most public school utilize gov run platforms (But still rely on MS for OS/Office or Google for OS/Other services), but at least most critical info is on whatever platform their govs run.
Inside the US, no, those corporations have captured everything.
They would never use free software, because they can't sign contracts or draw guarantees from free software organizations. Besides, most school technicians are not trained into it.
I still remember a lab technician (Early 2010s) struggling to make VLC work on all computer lab computers (And she still never managed to) -

@xianc78 Just like 2008-2010 all over again, when the first indie devs boom happened.
The good news is that nowadays you don't even need to make games proper, you can literally have a patron for game mods and total conversions.
It's difficult though to find a profitable niche.
