@xianc78 ehhh, it's also on emulator which, especially for n64, is still not perfect even today.

plus i'm sure that there are things going on with the expansion pak and the memory allocation that would eventually lead to crashing just because it isn't there.

save states in a lot of games can also lead to weird issues. i can't think of any specific examples off the top of my head but i've had difficulties with using save states causing things to get fucked up before.

@xianc78 that's a myth actually. they fixed the crashing bug before release and the expansion pak was used for vertex lighting.

Kind of crazy to think that back in the day, Rareware was putting out banger after banger like every year... and now it takes a full 300+ staff game company 6-8 years to shit out something underwhelming.

i know that game dev is "harder" these days, but it's also easier than it's ever been as indicative of how many absolutely banger indie and AA games come out all the time.

like... apparently only 11 people worked on goldeneye 007 and only 2 of them had actually made a game before. sounds a lot like palworld actually.

@freddie_the_fed @Tamamo I watched him back when he did creepy gaming. Then he started doing rants about shit and had some weird takes and then his channel became a drama channel more than anything else.

The dude downloaded and played Sad Satan knowing there was CP in it for the content (where he pretends to be viciously sick to his stomach but continues playing anyway). I think that's a little dubious. It's obviously censored, but it would have been better to, idk, not capitalize on that shit.

There were also a few times he didn't censor certain deep web links on the lists he'd go through for his videos and I never noticed anyone else pointing that out. I reported the videos but idk if they got removed or censored or anything.

No longer a fan, to say the least. He's got some weird stuff going on but is able to hide it just well enough for most people to not notice unless you've been in the trenches a bit. This gay panda dude knows. With how often this shit happens you begin to notice a pattern. When I was younger I chalked it up to him just making mistakes or something but looking back on it, If I was mature enough to notice that kind of stuff was sketchy then surely he should have been.

@koimoa @xianc78 @PurpCat scalpers aren't usually an issue since we have emulation and for the most part consoles are always available. i think this latest generation was only as bad as it was because of the chip shortage.

@MoeBritannica it's because of how widespread and popular anime is. they can't expect every dumb 14 year old girl(?) to actually enjoy the culture of the anime they are watching enough to care that onigiri is in fact NOT a jelly-filled donut. that's trickled down to even the most obscure anime now because they're still handled by the same translators that do the lolcalization for the popular ones.

ayo, system shock remake is 55% off on steam right now. play it, it's good! i haven't beaten it because i have so much other shit i've been playing but i do really like it so far.

if you haven't played scratches, you should. i watched a video about it since it was recommended to me and then i got stuck watching it lol, but if you have the chance to play it instead you absolutely should. seems like perhaps one of the most unsettling horror games of all time.

make sure you read the description, the game needs a fix if you are playing on anything but windows xp lol.
