@tournelhenry@husky@Tusky 'deceitful' is putting it lightly, as Tusky's instance censorship is encoded and not clearly stated in the error message. An innocent user of Tusky can 1. use it to try and access a forbidden instance 2. get a weird error 3. ask about the weird error in a Tusky forum 4. suffer the suspicions of the Tusky forum members. "That's an odd error. What instance are you trying to connect to?" 5. be denounced as a heretic when the instance is confirmed. It doesn't say "I'm bigoted towards this instance so I refuse to use it." It lays a trap for the unwary - who are, as always, the LEAST deserving of the kind of hate they'll get, because the more 'deserving' would dodge the trap.
@ChristiJunior@noyoushutthefuckupdad@1iceloops123@Speedy@augustus@olmitch saw a video today of a kid with a collar and dog ears explaining that he does all kinds of "dog-coded" things and isn't LARPing. dog-coded activities (obvious LARPing) >collecting bones >burying birds to collect the bones later dog-coded activities (obvious retardation) >going for a walk to relieve stress
if there's a point here, it's that the danger of these online movements is that it draws together kids who are very naturally (for kids) LARPing, and letting them gaslight each other into thinking there's something real. A tranny discord will show you 0.001% of each of its member's lives, and each member will pretend to be doing great, and then the entire rest of the life is misery.
@Zerglingman@amanda@PurpCat@aral@bitflipped@jeff@mischievoustomato alchemists: I will turn lead into gold cooks: I will turn food into food american industrial cooking: I will turn your various waste products into something resembling food, that you can put in food, and the terrible effects probably won't be traced to you for a long time
@locagainstwall >Brave is hateful because Brendan Eich denies he's a bigot >Brendan Eich is best known as the creator of JavaScript why aren't you cancelling JavaScript then? please cancel JavaScript. The SICP shame must be undone.
@Rasterman@PraxisOfEvil people complaining about dollars without knowing about ARS are making a darker version of the aphorism about not letting 'perfect' be the enemy of 'good'.
Don't flee deeper into Hell to escape a minor devil? Don't chain yourself to a sinking anchor because your boat has a leak?
@Rasterman@PraxisOfEvil vtubers receive superchats, and tend to respond more to high-value superchats. 'Red' superchats for example start at $100 USD. But, that's only for USD. For other currencies, lesser amounts (converted into UDS) can still result in a red superchat.
In this community ARS is infamous because people will donate extremely small amounts of money to get a RED SUPERCHAT OMG.
@coolboymew (cont.) >realize later that she wrote her number on my ticket >I give this woman three chances to understand something this simple and she fails, so she wants EVEN MORE instruction? >almost want to caller her just to tell her to take an online course >throw number away
@D-Droid@RehnSturm256 >be 90 years old >invited to talk to gradeschoolers about what it's like to be really old >very noisy class! >kid raises hand >"what was it like to live BEFORE the death of George Floyd?" >everyone hushes >teacher loud whispers "that was a very good question!", then expectantly turns to you >you finally notice a mural on the back wall: a crucified George Floyd with a halo >this is a Christian school
@Zerglingman@MK2boogaloo@niko there's a super online weebish pre-millennium epic about a guy coding his anime waifus into existence and then fighting in space with them, one of the characters has these traits: 1. he can appear out of nowhere. You're in the middle of empty space? He knocks on the door and comes in, impossibly. 2. he always says "good morning", regardless of the time
@diresock@nosleep@Nudhul@dcc@sjw 1) lmao the greeks were so gay they buggered each other all the time I have 500 period etchings of gay sex as ironclad proof of this 2) also it was a very repressed anti-gay culture so my 50 etchings depict heterosexual sex as a cover
@noyoushutthefuckupdad@Fullmetal2255@coolboymew this is actually a great idea for a podcast: one guy's always dragging the conversation to serious stuff ("yes, that scene in Fire Emblem was slightly heavy, but it's not as heavy as Kony 2012") while another guy does the opposite. ("Hm, yes, dead children. You know what else is awful? THAT PEOPLE STILL BUY BETHESDA GAMES")
