@sapphire@branman65@AnimeTradCath Very true. I don't know if taking such an easy potshot is a sin, but if it is I know Christ has my back. :watamelonsmirksmt:
@silverpill@sun Given the interest in it shown by state actors and industry, I suspect the stabilization will happen sooner than later. These two groups have deep pockets and an even deeper need for stability due to their historically sclerotic track record in updating old systems. God willing this means more than one compiler implementation can be made as well.
>For me it makes things easier because it takes care of many minor tasks and allows me to focus on what is actually important Could you elaborate on this? I'm curious given I've repeatedly heard the opposite as a common complaint against Rust. In particular regarding the compiler being fussy.
@ArdainianRight@SuperSnekFriend@nugger@branman65 As I mentioned in another post, they're two sides of the same coin. Without scripture, the living tradition has no grounding and is liable to fly in the wind to God only knows where.
@wgiwf@SuperSnekFriend@nugger@branman65@ArdainianRight One interesting aspect of the rosary is that it played a similar role to the artwork in delivering gospel to the illiterate. You don't have to be literate to recite a prayer to the point of memorization. And once you can memorize it, you can contemplate on its meaning and subtleties in further detail without having to consult a book.
@branman65@SuperSnekFriend 26 And in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, called Nazareth,
27 To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary.
28 And the angel being come in, said unto her: Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. (Luke 1:26-28, DRV)
Please tell me how quoting scripture (a part quoting an archangel, mind you) followed by asking a saint alive in heaven to pray for you is idolatry :marisa:
@PurpCat@RustyCrab I've had occaisions where I've shown normalfags how easy it is to block advertisements with ublock origin and they still refuse to use an adblocker. They bitch and kvetch and complain about endless advertisements yet when shown a zero-effort solution they put their hands up in a fit of learned helplessness. One of the best living arguments against universal suffrage I can think of.
