@amerika Oh wow.
I have trouble with trying to discuss philosophy these days. There is less examination going on, especially when it comes to the entertainment/stories consumed. It's just viewed as good. As a writer, that's not what I want to hear. Lol.

Like where would we place entertainment or paintings?

Like, appetitive stuff is things like food, sex, maybe dreams for sleep? Maybe entertainment for a distraction?
Transcendent stuff is closer to the wholesome stuff we need... could be philosophy, some art, family?

When you think about it, that would include justice and temperance. I think those are wholesome too. We have much to choose from to show what is wholesome.

@amerika @FeartnTired This is the moderate viewpoint too, although I confess that it does not please those seeking the outer paths. I don't think it pleases many people to be a moderate.

The places that I would think of as being rural now are basically tourist attractions at this point in the UK which kind of sucks.

This is where I am at with my own country. I will never have this but I kind of wish that I could go days without seeing a foreigner, whether a tourist and someone that settled here from abroad or now born here. This is where Japan is heading. I just don't need foreigners right on my doorstep. Especially now that I can learn about them online or go to their country.
